Robyn Kumlien, Milton, WI (1953 - 2013)
October 12, 1953 - January 8, 2013
Robyn Kumlien entered the Kingdom of Heaven after a long, courageous battle with cancer, with her loving family by her side on Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2013. Robyn was born on Oct. 12, 1953, in Beloit, WI, to Earl and Dawn (Dixon) McLean. She lived in the Beloit and Janesville areas most of her life until she married and then moved to Milton. On Nov. 20, 1976, she married the love of her life and soul mate, Robert "Bob" Kumlien, Jr. of Milton. Robyn was an avid camper, and always kept the home fires burning. She also loved hiking, reading and playing bingo. Her favorite times were spent with her family and friends. Camping with the family on Memorial Weekend was the time she looked forward to the most. She was a loving and caring woman who always put the needs of her family above her own. She had a spirit about her that would light up a room with just her presence and her laugh and quick wit lifted many people's hearts.
Robyn is survived by her husband of 36 years, Bob; her two children, Amber (Jason) Kumlien and Bruce Kumlien; her special granddaughter, Brooklyn Fessenden, all of Milton; by her brothers: Leroy (Cathy) Perry of Battle Creek, MI, Mike (Sue) McLean of Beloit, Donnie (Julie) McLean and Chris (Jackie) McLean, both of Janesville; her sisters: Dawn (Charlie) Mathews, Donna (Donald) Swenson and Penny (Pete) Melan, all of Janesville, and Sheelagh (Barry) Verrill of Longview, WA; her father-in-law, Robert Kumlien of Milton; her sisters-in-law, Jane Head of Milton and Janice (Gwen) Kumlien of Janesville; her brothers-in-law, Roger (Pam) Kumlien of Osceola, WI, and Rodney (Sheri) Kumlien of Verona; along with many nieces; nephews and friends. She will be joining her parents; one sister, Kathy Smith; and her mother-in-law, Opel Kumlien, in Heaven.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2013, at the MILTON UNITED METHODIST CHURCH with Pastor Patrick Schultz officiating. Burial will be in Rock River Cemetery. Visitation will be held Tuesday at the CHURCH from 9:30 a.m. until the start of the service.
The family would like to express sincere gratitude to the staff of Agrace HospiceCare. Their care and compassion with Robyn and her family is beyond measure. They truly are angels on Earth.
