Dorothy R. Seiler, Janesville  (1917 - 2013)

Dorothy R. Seiler, age 95, of Janesville, died on Sunday, Jan. 13, 2013, at Cedar Crest Nursing Home, Janesville. She was born in Boscobel, on July 7, 1917, the daughter of William and Marie (Burkhardt) Redmond. She was a graduate of Madison West High School. Dorothy married Donald Seiler on Oct. 11, 1941, he preceded her in death on Sept. 7, 1989. She worked for UW Hospital, Madison, as an administrative assistant. She was a charter member of Faith Lutheran Church. Dorothy was a devoted wife and mother. She made wonderful Sunday meals and still managed to get her children to church on time. She loved gardening and designed a beautiful rock garden in Madison. She loved decorating, was very artistic, enjoyed current events and politics, and was an avid reader. We have many fond memories of trips the family made to Door County and Texas.
Dorothy is survived by three children: Virginia Hayataka of Grand Rapids, MI, Linda (Pete) Molvie of Germantown, and Robert (Julie) Seiler of Janesville; four grandchildren: Tim (Emily Kuyers) Hayataka, Michael Hayataka, Ember Seiler and Emily (Andrew) Schimek; a great- grandchild, Liliana Grace Hayataka; a brother, Arthur (Betty) Redmond of Cross Plains, WI; and many other extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Donald; a son, David Seiler; a sister, Betty Johnson; and a brother, William Redmond.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2013, at FAITH LUTHERAN CHURCH, Janesville. A private burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at FAITH LUTHERAN CHURCH, Janesville.
