Rosemary Golden, Elkhorn, WI (1921 - 2013)

Rosemary Golden, age 91, of Elkhorn, WI, died unexpectedly, Friday, Jan. 18, 2013, at her home. She was born on May 2, 1921, in Elkhorn, WI, the daughter of the late Patrick and Mary Alice (Morrissey) Casey. On Dec. 29, 1945, she was united in marriage to Joseph Golden who preceded her in death on March 24, 2005. Rosemary was a lifelong member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Elkhorn where she was baptized, married and will be laid to rest. The church community was an integral part of her life and she supported its endeavors actively. Rosemary died in the home where she lived her entire life. The family home, built by her grandfather, was where she was born, raised and then raised her own family with her late husband Joe. Everyone benefited from her kind words and prayers. Her kindness is an inspiration to her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who will work continuously to live up her ideals. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She was a member of the St. Patrick’s Altar Society and World War II Civil Defense Block Captain. Rosemary graduated from Elkhorn High School in 1939.
Rosemary is survived by her four children: Robert E. (Barbara) Golden of Fitchburg, WI, Patrick (Kathy Gamble) Golden of Half Moon, NY, Joseph Golden of Elkhorn and Claire Golden Duchateau of Nekoosa, WI. She is further survived by her ten grandchildren: Joseph (Sue) Golden, Elia (Vy) Hilgenburg, Todd (Kathleen) Golden, Bridget (Dan) Golden Balogh, Matt Golden, Nick (Michelle) Duchateau, Allison (James) Duchateau Storts, Devin Golden, Samatha Golden and Therese (John Brodsky) Duchateau; ten great-grandchildren: Cassie Golden, Niall Golden, Henry Balogh, Jack Balogh, Maggie Balogh, Evan Hilgenburg, Violet Hilgenburg, Colin Duchateau, Braden Duchateau and Ellie Duchateau; and a special niece, Sherry Warrick.
Rosemary was preceded in death by her daughter, Magnifcat Golden; brother, Edward Casey; sister, Claire Casey Warrick; daughter-in-law, Joan Busch Golden; and many other dearly loved and special family members.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Wednesday Jan. 23, 2013, at 12:30 at ST. PATRICK’S CATHOLIC CHURCH in Elkhorn, WI. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until 12:15 at the HAASE-LOCKWOOD & ASSOCIATES FUNERAL HOME 730 N. Wisconsin St. Elkhorn, WI.
