Janet May Saldana, Janesville  (1940 - 2013)

Janet May Saldana, age 72, of Janesville, died on Thursday, Jan. 17, 2013, at Cedar Crest Health Care Center. She was born in Watertown, WI, on Oct. 5, 1940, the daughter of the late Wilbert and Ida (Yaeggi) Ells. Janet graduated from Fort Atkinson High School and later married Peter J. Saldana. They were married on May 5, 1962, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Fort Atkinson, and together they had two children. Janet was proud to be a wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker for her family. She was a very classy, loving, caring, and kind person, who at times could be stubborn and opinionated. Janet enjoyed games of chance, trips to the casinos, music, dancing, crafting, and camping, but most of all, she enjoyed listening to her husband sing. Her wonderful smile, laugh and great sense of humor will be missed by all who knew her.
Janet is survived by her husband of over 50 years, Pete of Janesville; two children: Yolanda (Robert) Sandmire of Janesville, and Carmen (YooMi) Saldana of Janesville/Huntington, IN; two grandchildren whom she truly adored, Thomas and Sarah Saldana. She is further survived by her three sisters: Marlene Ells of Jefferson, Helen (James) Funk of Mena, AR, and Mary (Harvey) Draves of Beloit; two brothers, Henry (Sandy) Ells of Janesville, and John (Cherrie) Ells of Ft Atkinson; sister-in-law, Maria Louise Chacon of Elk Grove, IL; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and her faithful puppy, Cha Cha.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2013, at the WHITCOMB - LYNCH FUNERAL HOME with Fr. James Kuhn officiating. Burial will follow at Milton Lawns Memorial Park. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 11 a.m. until the time of the service at the FUNERAL HOME.
