Wilda Mae Worden, Orfordville, WI  (1918 - 2013)

Wilda Mae Worden, age 94, of Orfordville, passed away on Jan. 20, 2013, at Premier Care Nursing Home, Beloit. She was born in Orfordville, WI, on Feb. 1, 1918, the daughter of Leonard and Sara (Creedy) Stuart. Wilda married a remarkable man, John Montrose Worden, on Oct. 30, 1943, and she was an active member of the Plymouth United Methodist Church. She enjoyed spending time with her many friends and loved ones sharing stories and discussing genealogy. In addition, Wilda loved gardening, quilting, cats and most of all, helping raise her only grandchildren, Lisa and Teresa.
Wilda is survived by her daughter, Gail (Jim) Burke of Marquette, MI; granddaughters, Lisa (Jason) DuBois of Atlanta, GA, and Teresa (Andy) Kaufman of South Elgin, IL; and great-grandchildren, A.J. (12), Mathew (9) and Madison (5) DuBois and Kaelin Kaufman (3). She was preceded in death by her parents; and son, Fred, in 2005.
We are so grateful to many special family members; wonderful, devoted friends and dedicated organizations who have loved Wilda and cared for her over the years, and we would like to thank them all! So many people have added joy, love and happiness to Wilda’s life, and she cherished the relationships, visits and memories shared with everyone. Finally, we’d like to thank the Evansville Manor, Collinwood Nursing Home, Premier Care Nursing Home and Agrace HospiceCare for providing loving and attentive care over the past few years, too.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2013, at NEWCOMER-SILVERTHORN CHAPEL ON THE HILL, 3008 South Coon Island Road, Orfordville, with Pastor James Hagen officiating. Visitation will be at the funeral home at 2 p.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be in the Plymouth Cemetery.
