Eleanor M. Petitt, Clinton, WI  (1928 - 2013)

Eleanor M. Petitt, age 84, died Monday, Jan. 28, 2013, surrounded by her family in her home. She was born April 11, 1928, in Clinton, to the late Louis and Helen (Jones) Jensen. Eleanor attended Beloit Memorial High School, class of 1946. She married Warren G. Petitt on May 1, 1948, at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Beloit. Eleanor was a 55 year member of Pella Lutheran Church until it closed. She worked as a school bus driver for the Clinton schools for 27 years, retiring in 1992.
Eleanor is survived by her husband, Warren Petitt; her three daughters: Linda (Ron) Loomis of Beloit, Debra (Doug) Armfield of Clinton, and Connie (Lynn) Tracy of Clinton; a sister, Marian Wyse of Clinton; eight grandchildren: Juliene (Tim) Ewers, Matthew (Claudia Solis) Loomis, Erin (Pat) Duckett, Janel (John) Karstetter, Christopher (Katie Schmidt) Loomis, Pete (Mandi) Tracy, Danielle Tracy and Michael (Sherri Straw) Armfield; eleven great grandchildren: nieces; nephews; and many cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister and brother-in-law, Evelyn (Ed) Girdler; and her infant sister, Florence Jensen.
The family would like to thank Eleanor’s honorary granddaughter, Sherri Straw.
Eleanor’s Funeral Service will be at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 31, 2013, in the FORMER PELLA LUTHERAN CHURCH, 422 Church Street, Clinton, with Rev. Tim Nybroten officiating. Friends will be received on Wednesday from 4:30 until 7 p.m. at the BRIAN MARK FUNERAL HOME, 504 Milwaukee Road, Clinton, and, again, on Thursday at CHURCH from 10 a.m. until the time of service. Following the service, the cortege will process to Clinton Cemetery for interment. A memorial is being established in Eleanor's name.
