Renovation work is now mostly done on the Rock County Jail, and the facility has entered the 21st century.
The new, one story addition to the south-east corner at the Rock County Jail is finished although some renovations in the original mid-80's building continue.

The new booking area at the Rock County Jail features cells for prisoners that require them, but also a more conventional seating area for low-risk and cooperative subjects. Booking is directly off of the sally port and also has a small area that is used by medical personnel when needed.

Correctional Officer Erin Wilson works in the new Central Control room at the Rock County Jail. The expansion and renovations at the jail have given Wilson about three times the number of security cameras to monitor, and moved the control room to an interior space where she no longer has to interact with non-jail personnel.

Due to changing needs, the medical area of the Rock County Jail has been greatly expanded with the new addition. Despite the use, the area's rooms are still jail cells which fits the policy of providing only immediate health care needs.

Thanks to the addition at the Rock County Jail, jail supervisors now have individual desks to work at. Previously the supervisors were required to share one work station.

The new sally port at the Rock County Jail is a spacious area that allows use by multiple vehicles in a drive thru configuration. The secure entrance also allows for separate personnel entrance and exit patterns to prevent confusion when moving prisoners.

After 25 years of service, the cell blocks at the Rock County Jail are getting a major cleaning and some minor revisions, but are essentially unchanged from when they were built.

New prisoners to the Rock County Jail have small private rooms with service windows to exchange personal items for jail garb. A washer and dryer are available to cleans the clothes of people that may need grooming help. The property room is adjacent to the changing area.
