Thousands turn out to fill their bellies with corn and get down and dirty in this year's Rotary Corn Roast and Mud Volleyball Tournament.
Under the watchful eye of her father, Rotarian Mark Lorenz, ten-year-old Ellie Lorenz of Janesville loads corn from a wheelbarrow into the roaster for the thousands who turned out for their fix at the Rotary Corn Roast and Mud Volleyball Tournament.

Though down to a trickle, the fire hoses were on hand to fill up the mud pits or hose off competitors at the mud volleyball tournament happening in the center of Traxler Park.

There was corn by the literal truckload at the roast, as demand was high and so were the temperatures on the roasters. It was Rotarian Ken Lein's job to get the corn off the truck and into wheelbarrows and keep the roasting going.

A competitor prepares to serve the ball, which in and of itself can be a tricky proposition when the ball is slick and covered in mud. Then again, not only was the ball covered in mud but so was everyone else at the tournament.

Tyler Stoikes was the playmaker for the Mud Studs, a group of friends who came out for the tournament, and it showed, as he seemed to be the least afraid to get dirty to score a point.

Just in from Cleveland, TN, Vicki Spors cleaned off her corn cob like someone who has been to the Corn Roast before. Spors was having a good time watching the competitors in the tournament, but was happy to stay out of the mud.
