It's really sad that they released him and did not remove his gun from his home after she stated she felt she was going to get hurt. It's true that the whole system needs to be reworked in this case that this poor girl lost her life because of the lack of anything from the outside.

She says in the tape 'I wouldn't put it past him to hurt me.' I am pretty sure that is cause to take the gun out of the house and detain him for longer that an hour! I don't know who, but somebody dropped the ball on this one! This whole thing is a ridiculous mess and it all could have and should have been avoided. I am just so saddened by it all.

Maybe the families asked to have the tapes released so the public would be on their side as to why nothing more was being done. Just a thought. I do not know. But I'm sure questioning the people who saw him that night. Two phone calls, both saying he's suicidal. One saying she isn't going home becasue she is scared. I'm sorry but I think they system failed both him and her. Not the POLICE! The SYSTEM. There is a reason he was let go 35 min later and that reason needs to never happen again to someone else!

I think these tapes are inappropriate to the public listening to them. The families involved in this mess have been through enough and to have her voice on here knowing she is now gone is so hard to hear. I think the families involved deserve answers. This is absolutely tragic. Please think of her mother or sister anyone related having to hear this. My thoughts are with the families involved.

I have yet to be impressed with the inner workings of EDGERTON. The PD are the most unprofessional inexperienced Pd I have ever had to encounter. It's a sad day when a child is lost because NO ONE wanted to listen Jennifer told them he had a gun what part didn't they get?? Leave the families in peace.
