I AGREE WITH USERNAME..THIS HAPPENS ALL THE TIME ON MY STREET. THE PEOPLE IN THE APARTMENTS DOWN THE STREET LEAVE THEIR CARS OUT ON THE ROAD DURING SNOWFALLS ALL THE TIME. THE OWNERS OF THESE APARTMENTS NEED TO PROVIDE THEIR TENATS WITH PARKING. AND IF THEY DO WITCH I THINK THEY DO DO, THEN THEY NEED TO GET OUT THEIR AND MOVE EM. I DON'T PAY CITY TAXES FOR A JOB HALF-DONE...I KNOW IT SOUNDS LIKE I AM NIT PICKING BUT ITS MY TAX DOLLARS AND I WANT THE JOB DONE RIGHT. SO START WRITING OUT THESE TICKETS AND LETS SEE IF IT HELPS OUT.

Plowing on the main roads was well. I just think the lack of clearing the side streets is where the ball was dropped. I also think the city (police) are too easy on the people that leave their cars on the curb with a snow emergency in force. Why a warning on the first snow fall? The ticket is only $20. If an officer is going to get out and put a warning on the car I say write the ticket. It's a mess when the plow does make a pass and they have to go out and around the parked car. When the street is then plowed you have mounds of snow scattered along the street once the car is moved.

All I'm saying is that you can't expect the city to be able to clear every street every time there is an inch of snow. I think it would be an eye opener to everyone if they knew exactly what it costs to put every plow on the street to clear them curb to curb. They city budget can't take it and it is responsible accounting for those in charge to say no to plowing every street every time it snows. We'll get through it and save a little money which is better for all of us. We only have a few times every year where it is very snowy. People need to be prepared for it. Get a 4 wheel drive SUV or truck or call someone that has one to get a ride to work. In my 40 years as a Janesville resident I have never seen the streets impassible. People need to be responsible for themselves. Leave early, allow plenty of time to get to and from work, carry a cell phone, blanket and other emergency items.
I say a big Thank You to the city and county plow trucks and those who decided to save a little money too.

I feel as if I have a right to complain. It's not like we're allowed to plow the streets ourselves. My taxes pay for plowing, and some years the people who do the job have a light year, some a heavy year. They just need to get it done.
We aren't stupid, we realize it's a Wisconsin winter. I guess, BigMike, you'd be prepared to do without any type of business and service if the employees couldn't get down the streets.

Thank you to the city for using common sense and saving a few bucks by holding off plowing and not plowing twice. Some of us appreciate the effort and thought about us the taxpayers. Some of you people are incredible. You'd bitch if you were hung with a new rope. You live in Wisconsin where it snows in the winter. Be prepared for it. Don't blame your inability to get around during and after a snow storm on someone else.

It is the same when you get to walworth co. also. night and day. I like how rock co. last year liked to pull the plows around 6pm if it was bad out. To bad some of my shift ends or starts at 11pm. Thanks rock co. for think of us that work shifts that are not 9-5.

If you people in Janesville think you have it bad when it comes to plowed streets, come to Orfordville and look at their streets. I like driving on the streets in Janesville compared to the streets in Orfordville.

I work in Dane Cty and know exactly where the county line is by how the roads are. Rock Cty is awful. The city streets are absolutely ridiculous!

My vote is for Ugly! This is the first our street (Sandhill Dr) has been plowed in over 2 weeks with now the third snow fall. We had over 6 inches of snow and slush to try to drive in. Can we fine the city for not plowing like they can fine us for not keeping our sidewalk clear? Not! Wake up!

Janesville's roads have been wonderful...if you think they're bad travel County A and Townsend Road, I grew up out there and have NEVER seen such a terrible job in plowing. I think Rock County better start training these people rather than just handing them keys to a truck and say go at it.

We live off Kellogg ave.and S.Oakhill.(Prairie Knoll.) Our sides streets rarely get plowed. But, if/when we can make it to the main streets like Kellogg it is very well plowed.I understand that the main streets must be done first...but don't forget the rest of us please.
