Get over it!
You read my rare post on the other blog, and caught Angola getting the +46 right? I can't just keep giving you guys these dead winners.
Like that was ever in doubt? You just grab the 46, tip a few back, and collect your $$$ from all those dumb Chinese bettors who don't know how to handicap basketball.
Your welcome! ;-)

NO WAY huh?
Well, as long as your boy Kobe doesn't run into any 18 yr old hotel workers over there, they MAY have a shot at gold!
.
I don't see any play in the modern pentathlon, but I may have a good one in table tennis! I'll keep you posted!

NO WAY team USA goes down in hoops bro! Don't give me this -350 this and -400 that. They are not going down with this group. Not with my boy Kobe on the team!
You really did not put action on a badminton game, did you? You have any plays in the modern penthalon? You crack me up!

I agree that the 4x100 relay was one of the best olympic moments in history! The only one that was better was the girls gymnastics winning team gold in 96!

How about the mens 4x100 freestyle relay? AWESOME. I hope you all saw it!!!
The icing on the cake: the french olympic relay team (a member on it, anyway) being quoted as saying "...we're going to smash the Americans" And they blow it in the last 50 meters. That was the best moment of the olympics for me, so far!!!

When you point out facts, it's right wing paranoia, of course.
.
No way that national anthem was a simple mistake. The Chinese government controls everything there. With Bush in the stands, this was their way of playing games with the US.
.
HEAVY action has been placed on "super" Dan Lin of China to win he mens singles in badminton. It's all those billions of suckers in Chine betting the home town guy. Wei Chong Lee of malaysia should take him. You heard it hear 1st. I'm all over that action!

Why is it always that a comment about the president of the U.S. somehow right wing paranoia? If that same comment dropped with Clinton in place of Bush, would you be saying the same thing? Oh he was the one that "did not have sexual relations with that woman". I guess I would not have wanted to admit doing it with her either.

I personally love the Olympics!! How could anyone say the opening ceremony was low tech?? Thats just plain stupid!! It was an awesome sight to see!! I will watch as many events as time will permit! These athletes have worked their whole lives to get to the Olymipics. So enjoy the games!! Go USA and GO PHELPS!!!

It's a great event. One of the few that bring nations together...even if for a short time. But I see that right-wing paranoia has slipped into these comments too.

Perhaps the person running the audio for the national anthem had been living under a rock and did not know when the song actually ended. At least the USA womens fencers got to hear our anthem all the way through.

Did anyone else see the gold medal ceremony for Michael Phelps? They CUT SHORT our national anthem when it got to "the land of the free and the home of the brave". It just STOPPED!
President Bush was right there at the ceremony. No one can possibly believe that this was a simple technology blip. Bush should get on the horn, and start calling for some heads to roll for this slap in the face!

Yeah; they are no doubt close to having them now, after Bill Clinton sent over Al Gore to that Buddhist temple to sell them the technology!
.
The real interesting story on these games is the amount of betting action that will take place in Asia. Asians LOVE to gamble. Some of the betting volume action on the Asian exchanges is through the roof. Lot of interest on if Team USA will win gold in basketball? They were as high as -400 to win gold, but it's come down to about -350 now. Not a bad play to play bet they don't, at better then 3/1. Would not surprise me if they choke again.

chaferete: It wasn't a coach that was killed. It was the men's volleyball coach's father-in-law. Still equally sad. The mother-in-law and tour guide were also injured before the felon leaped to his death. My vote is for swimming, gymnastics, sand and indoor volleyball.

Thanks to the new "let's go digital" initiative, I no longer get NBC. Wonder what all the old people are doing. This whole change away from analog seems to be a boondoggle for cable and dish companies. Why doesn't the Gazette do a story about this? The Radioshack in Beloit is saying that they're having a run on indoor antennae because so few people in our neck of the woods can get the same stations they used to get on analog?

We try to watch as much as possible. My children and I sit and watch the opening and closing ceremonies together. Gymnastics has always been a family favorite but swimming has become fun to watch as well.
