This is a loaded poll. What if you don't think these issues are important enough - what about limiting state income taxes - school revenue caps - intrusive environmental laws based on a political agenda not science - I am in favor of stem cell research as long as government keeps it fingers out of it. Things tend to get corrupt when governments get involved in anything.

Well, Kari, pick up the phone and call City Hall for a phone number. Whoever the candidate is, she or he should be pleased to talk with you.

I'd like to know where some of the City Council candidates were born/raised. I think I know one of them from my childhood, but would like to see more of a background on them. Thanks!

Any of the presidential candidates, that is. [See preceding post.]

Are these issues not all important to Wisconsin citizens? (Or should be?) And did anybody hear ANY of the candidates address them? And yet all are issues that national leaders can influence, unlike all the issues they raised and have no power over.

I did not vote of these issues either...so I chose 'E: none of the above', then clicked 'VOTE'...I'm still waiting for my vote to show up...
I agree with y'all regarding why are these even being asked...What about the cost of fuel? The economy? Taxes? Tea in China? Carter's Liver Pills? Oh! That last one is just as relevant as the questions that were asked in this poll...

Here is a thought - If you think you can do a better job on the school board then put your name on the ballot next time there is an opening. Then maybe you can actually put your words into action.

Great Lakes restoration? Restored to what, glaciers? Dairy farm subsidies? Hasn't the price of milk increased alot over the last couple of years? Stem cell research? Is this an issue now that they don't need to sacrifice embryos to obtain them? SeniorCare? Isn't that what medicare is?

OK, so, again -- why are we looking at state issues when there are no state offices in the primary?

The burning question on everyone's mind is: Why do we need the State Patrol anymore? There aren't enough of them patrolling the highways, they always seem to be parked at the scaes when they are closed, and the highway problems still exist.

If they were State Police, they'd have some value. They aren't, so, let state money funnel to the 72 sheriff departmetns to patrol the roads. Legislature fixed the strength of the Patrol at 499 troopers. WHAT ARE WE GETTING FOR OUR MONEY ANYWAY?

I didn't vote here because I don't seem to be connecting the dots ... Can someone lend me a hand? I voted today for City Council and presidential candidates, and some of you voted for County Board candidates ... stem cells, OK, I can see how that would affect your prez vote (even though it's, sadly, not on the radar of the campaigns yet) ... But otherwise, how on earth does this poll relate? Wouldn't we have been better served by local or national issues on primary day?
For now I'm going with "Clearly there's something I'm missing." And I hope someone tells me what it is.
