The financial talk is on OTHER parts of these blogs. If you don't care about the topic of THIS blog discussion, then don't post. Yeah; the CEO's will all make millions at the tax payers expense. WHAT ELSE IS NEW?? Look who are the financial advisers of BOTH Obama and Mccain..EX lobbyists, CEO's, executives. It is all one big country club, don't kid yourself.
.
My point with the NFL replay is that it is a DISASTER, and that it should not be put into college to ruin their game like it has the NFL. I also forgot to mention the "tuck play" (playoff game between New England and Oakland). That won New England a super bowl on ANOTHER botched replay call. All this thing has done is made FALSE super bowl champions (New England and St Louis).

How about a poll on the need to prosecute criminally the heads of the various finance institutions that have gone under. It will cost us more than a trillion dollars when it's all over to bail them out, and yet many of the CEOs left with their golden parachutes. Where is the talk of personal responsibility when it comes to execs?

I agree, there should be a "who cares" column.
Weekends should be for family! As far as I am concerned, there is too much focus on sports and not family.

Isn't this about college football? Anyway, pro football has changed the rules on replay as well in the last few years. They are allowed no more than 90 seconds to review a play.

That was the famous Burt Emmanual play. The name was right on the edge of my vast memory, and just suddenly came to me. Hate it when that happens!
After that debacle, the rules regarding what is and what is not a catch had to be modified the next year. Sure did not help out Tampa though, who would be screwed a trip to the Super Bowl by the sham of replay.

Thats odd. I saw a NFC championship game between Tampa and St Louis a few years back, and not only did the replay take 20 minutes, they also BOTCHED the call. Overturning the gall that was RIGHT on the field. St Lois would win the game because of the bad replay over turning, and then go on to win the Super Bowl. All the while the viewers had to watch 1/2 dozen ED ads when it was under review for 20 minutes!
I say junk it. Bad calls happen all the time. Deal with it. Things equal out over time. "REGRESSION TO THE MEANS" the famous line of a statistician.

Officials aren't more lazy because they can 'fall back on replay'. In fact, replay is limited to on per team, and if you challenge a plan and it stands you lose a time out and you have no more challenges. It's not like officials are looking at plays over and over and over adding tons of extra commercials. Instant replay, if used twice in a game adds on no more than 5 minutes.

Replay is a good thing if they use it for what it is! A call is either conclusive or it's not. If these officials need to spend 90 sec. or more figuring out whether to keep or reverse a call.....it's not conclusive! Especially when it comes to overturning a call. If it takes that long to overturn something, it probably shouldn't be overturned.

My theory on replay is that it's was just a fancy way for more ad revenue. Look at the sham they have in the NFL. You get that challenge flag tossed, and its RIGHT TO COMMERCIAL. You see some ridiculous ED ad thrown in your face for the 15th time, and 10 minutes later they original call stands. It's a complete joke. replay should be TOTALLY BANNED. All it does is slow the game down, and makes the officials LAZY, knowing they can fall back on it.
