Fake FEMA officials in Vernon Co.
VIROQUA (AP) — Vernon County officials say people are posing as fake representatives from the Federal Emergency Management Agency.
In a news release, county emergency management officials say there is a report of people trying to enter homes to evaluate damages. Vernon County is one of 20 counties declared federal disaster areas after severe flooding.
Officials are telling residents that if anyone shows up posing as a FEMA representative, they should ask for FEMA-issued photo identification. Also, if their license plate can be safely seen, officials ask residents to write it down.

It is regrettable that living among us are those who would steep so low. Give us your sick, your poor, or your unfortunate, and the crooks soon follow. Fortunately, Wisconsin’s media outlets have been ahead of this story. I wish all of those affected by these floods a speedy recovery.

I hope these people are apprehended and quickly. Impersonating a federal official is probably a serious enough offense but these people are probably connected to a theft ring.

People are so sick as to have that desire to even think of taking advantage of others while they are vulnerable!!
