Wis. man charged with abandoning 3 dogs
SHEBOYGAN, Wis. (AP)--A Sheboygan man is charged with abandoning three dogs in his apartment while he was on the run from police.
The three misdemeanor charges filed Friday against 49-year-old Robert W. Collins carry a maximum penalty of two years and three months in jail.
The criminal complaint says residents who live below Collins told police Tuesday they hadn't seen anyone in Collins' apartment in five days. They said the three dogs inside were barking continuously and sounded like they were in distress.
The complaint says police found the place covered in dog urine and feces.
Police say Collins was wanted for allegedly assaulting another man last month. He was arrested Friday.

If you haven't checked his residence then your not really doing your job as a cop tracking down people who have arrest warrants.
I take it you never look at your friends house when your trying to find them?

They should leave the man locked up somewhere and let him sit in dog urine and feces and see how he likes it!!!

That's why your not in law enforcement Haeight. They can't just search his place because he has an arrest warrant. They would have to get a search warrant. Too much CSI!

Lets see, your on the run from the cops as cops wouldn't you be searching his apartment seeking any information about the individual? Like does he know how to camp? Who does he know? the list goes on.
So saying he abandoned his dogs, is just a slap in the face when the cops should have already been there and realized there were animals in his home.
This is more like sloppy police work than animal abandonment.

I hope he gets the maximum sentence. Those dogs didn't deserve that!

The sad thing is that he would've got less time for child abuse.

Wow, up to two years and three months in jail. I guess he should have just drove drunk, the local court would be easier on him.
