your mama & daddy must of taught all of you to beleive everything you read in the news papper and fed by the police. you all make it sound like the halbachs are guilty. they have been after these people for 10 years. do you not think for one moment that if everything they said was true, and they had all the evidence for a 100% conviction, they would have hung them as high as they could have. as we all know, $$$ is no object for prosacution of high crime like this. jenifer, the informent, who runs to the gazzette the day after she convinced the police this was a multi-state crime ring, who also admits that she is an anna nicole smith wanna be and confesses she is a porn star out in california. the gazette said that 50 cops took 8 hours to complete the raid. how much do you think that costed, or do you think they volunteered their time. then add the cost of the thousands of hours of tapes that had to be watched. i am not sayig that halbach was a saint, i am sure he has done some stupid things.
even if you do not like them, they have done a lot of good things for the city of janesville. i thank the halbachs, for any reason they did it, for a nice home for the 12 & 12.

From what I have seen, the 12&12 doesn't attract much better clients than the strip club did so the same type of people will be hanging out there anyways.

AA is a seriously needed program for recoveries. BUT, let's not get our garter belts in a bunchy....if a person who is a recovering alcoholic can't find a sense of humor, then they aren't recovered. The whole 12 step process is to except the things I CAN'T change. And you can't change other's views of the world, therefore, if you find it funny, laugh, if you don't, ignore it because you can't change it. And I bet those that are active in the program can laugh at the comments on here, it is the uptight little judgemental UNHAPPY, botoxed people that can't express a smile. AND my suggestion to you is, if you are a victim of an alcoholic...QUIT beinga victim and go to alonon. Happiness and laugher are the best medicine.

I knew the second I saw this story it would dissolve into nonsense. I could have been the first post yesterday, but opted to wait and see if I was right. But it isn't that unusual for addiction programs to be near the place where people get addicted. It's a really good place to be, actually. If an alcoholic can be reminded every day that there's help available, and can see regular people, maybe that s/he knows, taking part, it makes it easier for them to take that step when they need to.

And the current location (in the Knights of Columbus building in the Fourth Ward) is directly adjacent to a number of known drug houses. I do wonder what they think about that (both the 12-steppers and the dealers).

one of their "collars" He can't speak english, they go arrest him on a friday nite, make him spend the week end in jail, he misses work and pay, and they tell him, plead guilty and pay a $250 fine or this will happen agin. Jenifer, the police madam & informant, was the crust of the problem. this is the same informant that set up her cousin in a drug bust at local bar. her claim that the halbachs were running a drug cartel, selling child porn over the internet, was the daun waun of janesvile, what ever happend to those allegations. Another john they arrested that pleaded guilty was her boy friend that she is having a kid by. what do you think the price tag was for this. if i am not wrong, they can not bring anymore chages against any of thoose people because the trial is over.

really smart location.... having an AA building less than a block away from Game Day and Dool's, and not even 8 blocks away from 708 and Slicks (not counting the bar on GM property)... if you decide not to quit after all, the bar's are all right there... niiiiiccccceeee...

The 12 X 12 is not an AA group. It hosts AA groups. Important difference.

It's not funny if you're a person battling demons against alcohol addiction (which I'm not, for the record).
