On Big garbage tubs are on their way

We have been doing it for years in Beloit Township and it is very easy. We have a family of 4 and it is sometimes a struggle to make it 2 weeks before filling up the large recyclables container. We could easily get by with the smaller garbage container. I just put one container on each side of the driveway.

Honorfirst, you obviously didnt look look at the real reasons why a new high school is needed. Townview is a facility that has out lived its usefullness. We need technology to teach our kids for the jobs that are out there. The school has an old mound system that cant keep up and has water issues. Everyone wants to make this a school choice issue but it isnt. Turner was looking into a new high school before kids from school choise were coming there. If you want to see what happens to schools that dont upgrade their facilities take a look at Parkview. That school hasnt changed in 30 years. It makes me sad to think that area residents dont want to invest in their children's future. I moved to Turner school district because I care about my kids education and want it to ne the best it can be and last night we took a step backward. This isnt wasteful spending, this is investing in our future!
On Turner turns down school referendum

I am very disappointed in my fellow Town of Beloit residents. Apparently the residents of the City of Beloit cares about their kids future more than we care about ours. Very sad. I built a home in this district because I care about my kids education. I was on the fence when this started but after doing my homework I voted yes because this is the best thing for our kids and our community. During this process I heard many people against it because they said they hadnt heard one good reason for a new school. If that is the case they werent listening. Keep an open mind and get informed before you make your decision.

I dont get why Blackhawk is taxpayer funded anyways. If they need money they should raise tuition.

One of the things that made MLB great was the numbers. Everyone knew the single season HR record. Everyone knew the carreer HR record. Now that these cheaters have ruined the sacred numbers the sport isnt the same. The numbers dont mean nearly as much as they used to. There isnt good way of picking who gets in and who doesnt since we dont have proof who cheated and who didnt. Just letting them in is a disservice to the players that did it the right way. I say that they keep out the obvious ones (Bonds, McGuire, Sosa) and put in the others with an * saying that these players played in the steroid era. Either way, the records should not count for the obvious cheaters.

Coming from someone that grew up behind Beloit hospital and currently resides in Beloit Township I think this plan makes no sense. How does this help anyone but the construction companies? Access to the I90 can easily be gained by going north on Prairie Ave and taking a right on Avalon Rd. If you chose to go south you can go south on Prairie Ave to Murphy Woods Rd and east on Shopiere to I90 or down to Cranston take a left and take another left onto I43. Building this Inman extention would save a motorist no time going north and maybe a minute or at most two going south. What are we gaining here? This will not help business grow in Beloit. It makes no sense. This is just another example of government wasting taxpayer money. I could maybe see expanding Prairie Ave to three (middle turn lane) or to four lanes, but I dont think that is really necessary. Quit wasting taxpayer money!!!

Since you Irebout are the only one complaining I guess that nobody else has a problem with it. How else are they supposed to come up with the money? Have a rummage sale? Oh wait, they did! The Booster Club raised enough money to pay for a new scoreboard by doing car washes, having rummage sales, and other fund raisers. Turner has some of the best test scores in the area so it isnt like they are lacking in that department. Quit complaining about things that you dont know about.

On Wis. DNR: Gun deer kills up
Posted on November 30 at 6:03 a.m. ( Suggest removal )
I hunt private land and hunting was poor this year. I had less than half the deer that I normally see on my trail cams and saw very few deer. I spent 7 days bow hunting this fall and saw 6 deer. That used to be a good morning, not a whole season. I saw one deer gun hunting and most of the people I talked to didnt see any. The earn a buck has ruined the herd and it is going to be a while before it returns to normal.

On Beloit Turner School Board: Open enrollment helped sink referendum
Posted on April 10 at 9:41 a.m. ( Suggest removal )
Honorfirst, what are those cuts that you seem to know about and the school district doesnt? I went to Turner and I do like a small school, but I also like opportunity for my kids. A new/larger school means more programs and technology. The jobs that are available right now are jobs in the technology sector. How do you think that they are going to increase programs without more space? I think that Turner does an excellent job on academics. How are sports taking away from academics? Look what is happening at Parkview. They wont approve a referendum to improved their schools and that school is losing more students every year. If they dont do something soon they may fold up for good. I want what is best for my kids and if that means I have to pay a little more money for that to happen I am all in. My kids and the community's kids future is worth it.
