Different state, same situation, a very dear friend was killed under the same circumstances.
Officer was not using lights or siren and T-boned a car in the intersection. No citation was issued to police and my friend got killed. City street, posted 25 mph, estimated mph for the police car 40 mph.

Read the legal news, it doesn't matter how many drunk drivers the Police arrest, they are let off with a slap on the wrist.

Ok so they have to pay a fine and their insurance rate goes up, and heaven forbid, they may even have to go to drunk driving school and pay a fine. Obviously that is not enough, there our people arrested for thier 4th, 5th 6th...you get the idea.

So then they get their driving privlages suspended...guess what folks, they broke the law when they were drunk driving, do you really think suspending their license, is going to stop them from dirving?

Of course they, (the drunks) always have the option of getting an occupational license. I pass on the abuses that allows.

We need stiffer penalities for first tme offenders. In Indiana, the first DWI gets you 30 days in jail, no if ands or buts about, then you lose your drivers license for a year, plus you have to go to drunk driving school. Sound to harsh? Think about it the next time you hear about an innocent person (s) killed by a drunk driver on their 3rd, 4th, 5th DWI arrest.

I drink and I enjoy it, but I make arrangements in advance for a designated driver!

Wake up Judges start help saving innocent lives, the Police are already doing thier job, and you are dropping the ball. When a Police Officer stops a car, he/she has no idea what they are walking into. These officers risk their lives for we, the citizens every day.

As Judges, you see these criminals in a protected court room. Most of the time the defendent maybe in hand cuffs, or at least there it an armed deputy to protect you. What the heck are you afraid of. You are not on the bench to make law, you are there to dispense law. I repeat, start doing YOUR job.

I started taking conversational French in the fourth grade. My French education ended at the end of my freshmen year of highschool. Having no one to speak French with, I have retained very little of my skills.

I believe that Spanish should be a manditory class in High School unless a student is able to test out. Other languages should be optional, if students want to study something that is not currently offered, they should look to Blackhawk Tech for an evening course.

Sorry, I just don't get it, a year in jail for killing someone.

So how much time would someone get if they were just a drunk driver (underage of course)?

Sure is cheaper than getting a divorce, just drink up and smash her into a tree? Because if you kill her outright, you are going to do some serious time.

Something is wrong with this picture and it is not just this case.

Sorry JSM Kerry and his Heinz 57 were in the last presidential election, I praise the Lord every night that he did not make it. As for tin foil hats in a shed, you must be looking in a mirror, and by the way, I don't play with action figures, I prefer the real thing.

It seems a shame that the Democrats couldn't let thier primary process run its natural course...will we count them, we won't we count them, I know, let's count half, but them give some extra to Obama...politics, you can have them.

You are aware, probably, that Barack Obama lost his bearings recently and said that he was going to campaign in all 57 states. You heard this? And everybody chalked it up to, "Well, he's tired."
Barack Obama says he's gonna go out and campaign in 57 states, he was just tired, you know, it's been such a long campaign, he's been so many places, he probably thinks there are 57 states. Well, I have here a printout from a website called the International Humanist and Ethical Union. And here is how the second paragraph of an article on that website begins. "Every year from 1999 to 2005 the organization of the Islamic conference representing the 57 Islamic states presented a resolution to the United Nations commission on human rights called combating." And the title of the piece here is, "How the Islamic states dominate the UN human rights council," and there are 57 of them.
Obama said he's going to campaign in 57 states, and it turns out that there are 57 Islamic states. There are 57 Islamic states. So did Obama just lose his bearings, or was this a more telling slip, ladies and gentlemen?
