On A risky setting for NYC trial of 9/11 suspects

Posted on November 15 at 7:35 p.m. ( Suggest removal )

I get a sense this hasn't been thought through. Bring the suspects to NY, one of the sites of the attacks. The Defense attorney asks for a change of venue to get a fair trial. He'll get it. Now the Administration has to figure out security for these freaks somewhere else. What happens if the cases get tossed on technicalities? Talking about guys that would have a burn on for the US. This has no good outcome for the security of the United States.

On No. 11 Iowa stays perfect, beats Wisconsin 20-10

I know what I am talking about. I am quite familiar with the process of making it on a D1 team. Just curious why the Janesville HS athletic progams don't get their student athletes picked up by big schools. Other, obscure school districts across the nation do and I have not seen articles in the Gazette reporting on them as I have seen in other papers that I have read in other cities. This was not meant as an insult, although I believe some feel it is. I do know the process. Nothing futher to add. Thanks.

Janesville seems to have outstanding high school sports programs. How come no athletes go to UW or other major universities? Besides Katy O'Leary trying out at UW and Misty Bass, attending Duke, it seems like Mike Herrington ('79) was the last athlete from Janesville to get a scholarship and play at a Div 1 school.

On Does Janesville need a second hospital?

Lots of talk in the article about the number beds in the new hospital, but no mention of the number of jobs a new hospital would bring. Last check, Janesville had the highest unemployment rate in the state for a tax base that is increasing. Doctors, nurses and technicians bring payroll and support local taxes. Don't forget the new hospital will also draw patient's familys in town during surgeries and extended stays. I think Janesville should say thank you to St Mary's and encourage the new hospital unless the residents are satisfied with their current economic situation.

Somethings are bigger than Obama's influence. Looks like the Olympic vote was one of them. It will be fun to watch the 2016 games though. I've been to Rio in August. It will be like March in Virginia. Chilly.

I am not sure what is more disappointing about this issue, that a qualified candidate was not hired or the AD and Prinicpal do not have the courage to tell Ms Roehl the real reason she was not hired. She turned in an incomplete application package and instead of asking for the missing data, the job gets reposted. Is that written policy and is that information provided to candidates? All the talk from Administration Officials reported in the story sounds like they "got caught speeding" and are trying to get out of the situation.

On For immigrants, Kennedy remained tireless advocate

Lot's of kind words being said about the late Senator, but few remember his rant against the Supreme Court nominee Robert Bork. Like him or not, he was a sitting judge in the United States. Ted Kennedy's disrepectful commentary of a sitting judge, before the confirmation vote, showed his true colors.
