On Wisconsin AD Alvarez gets new contract, raise

Lets see if I can explain this in a way that DTB can understand; College athletics bring in millions of dollars, don't pay the athletes to perform, give limited scholarships, and apparently don't pay most of their employees what they're worth based on comments in this section, all while continuing to pad the pockets of a few. Maybe you are correct, in the scheme of life, athletic directors are very important to all of us, provide a crucial service to mankind, and should get millions of dollars to do their job, but in my opinion maybe some of that money should be used for things that really matter.....like lowering tuition so that college is a little more affordable! Maybe this explanation will help you comprehend what you are reading!

Do not believe the board didn't support and even encourage Rhodes up until it eventually all fell apart. She would have never lasted that long without the boards blessings. It probably wouldn't hurt to start looking for board as well!

On Gas station gets another reprieve

TEAR IT DOWN! This group of people that want it saved seem to want everyone else to pay for it. If they want it so bad why haven't they put their money up for it? Its an eye sore that will cost the tax payers way too much money to be worth FULLY restoring it. The council will cave, spend just enough to keep it from falling apart (which is more than it costs to tear it down) and it will sit there for 20 more years looking like crap! But at least Janesville can say "come look at our crappy old gas station."

It seems the Murray family believes actual qualifications are not that important when running for public office. Some advise for you Andy; if elected take time to actually read the agenda materials before your meetings so you don't look stupid ... if you know what I mean.
