I agree with DDoright. Comments and opinions that differ even slightly from the majority and/or norm should NOT be allowed. I find it appalling that when I read comments/opinions from many differing types of people that they do not completely agree with my own! And I am not smart enough to take these comments for what they are, as I find it necessary to read each and every one and take them ALL seriously. This is very disturbing, Janesville Gazette. Please do a better job at screening our thoughts here so we do not have to make our own opinions. Thank you.

There's a great wading pool and park area down at Riverside Park. Oh wait...that's right. That's on the WEST side of Janesville so of course the city has neglected it for years and now it's unusable. We should build more backup parks and pool areas on the East Side where they belong. I think it's time we consider shutting down Rockport Pool, as well. It's such a waste sitting on THAT side of town!

Countrymom: I was trying to be sarcastic. I agree with you. It's funny my attempt to be overly dramatic about taking this guy down with mob justice and pointing out it doesn't matter if he's guilty...that simply cuz he's a "lowly" janitor makes it even MORE wrong he would speak to a child. But yet...notice no one except you spoke out against me? Proves my point how over-the-top and quick to judgement these people are.

Wow. I'm not on anyone's side. But it would seem this RUSerious guy/girl is one of the biggest "trolls" that he/she likes to put down. They have nothing better to do then write on here all day? Yet, RUSerious has hundreds of comments listed and decides to write a book instead of briefly making his point. I think he made a point, just not the one he intended. I actually like some of these "trolls" comments. Of course, that's because I like debate and differing opinions. Obviously, not everone does.

I agree with you officerfriendly! In fact, I think we should take mob justice and go get this guy!! How dare he hand out candy to kids!! Kids!!! And to allow them to come into his work area? Disgraceful. This is a janitor. Not a teacher or principal. He has no right to try becoming involved in their lives. It's good someone noticed he was friendly with kids and labeled him a pedophile so that he'd be taken care of. Does it really matter if no evidence was found of any malicious behavior? NO! It's just a janitor's life that's ruined. He should've known better before talking to our children!
On Sex offender released in Janesville

If you work at Screamin' Meemees and are ACCUSED of crimes (a lap dance?!?) then you get large clear pictures of yourself posted all over the Gazette. If you molest children and you're released to a community, you get a small picture of poor quality so it's more difficult for people to spot you. Glad to see the Gazette once again has their priorities straight. Keep up the good work!!!

I REFUSE to find any truth in what Janesville Hero claims and feels about this city. But when I leave a comment that is CLEARLY sarcasm to its fullest, only to be followed by many comments bringing up FREE SPEECH and all that...then it makes me sad that his/her beliefs about the intelligence of those leaving comments almost seems to be supported. I was trying to make a point about not taking things so seriously and being able to judge for yourself which comments to take to heart, instead of whining to the Gazette to filter out differing opinions. These comment sections have just become individuals sending insults back and forth. No matter what anyone says words actually CAN be hurtful. But when YOU make the choice to read them, don't expect pity when you fall right into someone elses games and taunts.
