Mr. Rashkin has set up polls on his blog regarding the museum and it's funding.
Check it out.

Walker asked: "Anyone know if other council people have a blog?"
Amy Loasching is "not a blogger". She told me that much in an e-mail. I think the only person who has a blog is Mr. Rashkin.
I may be wrong, but it's almost as if the council members have been told not to reply to the blogs and articles here on the Gazette. I've been told in emails from Amy Loasching and Tom McDonald that neither of them think that posting here is a good way to "educate" people.

I emailed the city council address and received responses from both Tom McDonald and Amy Loasching. Tell them your concerns and they will respond.
If you aren't happy with how they, and the other council members, are running the show. Tell them. I had responses within the day.

I am not in favor of this museum, the city spending MY tax dollars on something I will NEVER USE and the council members who think Janesville "needs" special-interest projects over bettering the city as a whole.
You fail, City Council.

"...so many students that first need to master English before they can be fluent in another language."
Agreed. Too many people are passing out of the Janesville School system with appalling grammar and an overall laziness and disregard for the English language. I see this every day in my own workplace. Horrendous spelling, people who leave out punctuation completely, and a growing epidemic of "text speak" and slang taking the place of proper English in emails.
The school board can hardly expect students to become fluent in a second or third language when their primary language has not been mastered.

It's the front of the 3rd level. There are even locker rooms with showers. There's a game room up there, too. With a pool table, air hockey, dart boards and a place to sit and read.

More businesses could take a page from LSS and have a fitness center. I know I'd love it if my workplace had one...or offered discounted memberships or something at the YMCA or the JAC.
It might encourage people to make healthier choices.

If learning a different language is the goal for the School Board... try having total immersion classes by the time the kids reach middle school.
Being forced in middle school to learn a language in order to pass is not going to work. It also didn't help that the language instructor was never available for help. I took three years of Spanish and I am not fluent. I can read a little bit of it and can say a few phrases but if I were asked to conversate, write something or to translate I would be sunk.
