What a shame to our history once it is gone it is gone forever. Maybe we need to start to hold the people that buy these properties accountable for them. So if you want to purchase an old or even new for that matter then you are responsible for bringing and keeping that building up to code and keeping it in good shape. Lets all contact our council members and start the "case act". I am tired of all of the slum lords in Janesville.

SarahB1 - I believe that in order to become a legal citizen that they do have to learn American history, the constitution, the declaration of independence and much more. It is also a requirement that they speak and understand some English. I think maybe you should contact the the Immigration Department and find out for sure.

They really need to crack down harder. Is it just me or does it seem like the stores and other places are filled with people who cant speak or understand a word of English. Now I assume that if they are here leagally then they have to speak and understand some English. If they really want to round them up just wait at Walmarts door and ask questions as they come out. That was easy!
On City council to consider borrowing $16 million

janesvillean must be one of the members of the city council. Quality of life this quality of life that. You are obviously trying to justify spending money we dont have. In your private life you must be so far in debt so that you can justify the quality of life you live. If you dont have the money to spend then dont spend it. I think maybe the city should call Suzie Orman to see if they are approved or denied.

I am sick and tired of hearing about the city buying this and buying that, stop spending money. If they have all this extra money all the time pay for the new schools and all the other s&%t that they keep raising my taxes for. This city is getting to the point where I am going to tell them to kiss my a** and leave this s$#t hole behind.
