"Once proud city?" Really? A town of lazy plant workers who continuously whined about pay and working conditions when all they did was take advantage of what they DID have until it drained out and now they find themselves exactly where they belong! I say NOW we finally have a chance of making this city one to be proud of. Good riddance to GM.

Your speculations are way off. I think many of you will get a "kick" out of what's planned.

I see benstinkin has been making a fool of himself again. Maybe if you spent more time worrying about your out-of-control children instead of enlightening us all with your online wisdom you wouldn't be in the mess you are in. Yes, I know who you are so yes, I know about your situation. I find it humorous.

This is a good thing people! Wake up!! GM needs to go and the sooner we can move on from this mess and the image of Janesville being a GM town...the better! It's a dinosaur nearing extinction. And those who work there simply need to relearn proper work ethics and swallow their pride a bit. They had a free ride for WAY too long.

Yes, momof5, I'm back from an extended vacation. This flooded town was becoming too dreary to be around so decided to take a trip someplace nice. I see the waters have gone down, but the smell still exists. And to answer your question...no, to my employees that would live places that get flooded...I do NOT pay them over $30K. But to those who matter to me and have educations, they are very well taken care of. Why, looking for work?

If people in this state spent more time saving money and looking to the future, instead of spending it in bars and liquor stores they would not have this problem. We need to change the image and mindset of this entire state! Wake up people! Big government shouldn't be solely responsible for taking care of your needs. I, for one, find it difficult to understand how someone could even live on less than $20-30K a year.

After hearing some of the ideas come out of this summit it's clear this town is only going to get worse. Did people check their intelligence at the door coming in?! Speaking to individuals in small groups about GM and listening during the summit, only made me realize that so many people around here have a one-track mind believing that GM is the GOD of this town worth any cost to save! GM is a dinosaur. On it's way to becoming extinct. Open your minds people!

Have no fear! Barack Obama shall save the day!! Little does he know, most around this town are happy to see this plant and those within finally move on. GM has brought the image of this little city down for too many years now.

Glad I sold off my shares long ago! Now I'm doing just great while financial fools and "quality" GM employees continued to hold faith in a dying dinosaur. I'd feel more pity if it wasn't so clearly moving towards this point for years. You get what you deserve, is all I have to say.
