On GM bankruptcy could hurt local retirees, employees

To set the record straight, I'm was not a Union Worker but for those of you who want to blast the unions better do a little research on why unions were needed. You can say you don't need a union but if unions ever disapear this country will be right back to where it was before the 1930's when you weren't classfied as a person it was more like a slave horse.

For all of you Nay Sayers, you need to read this before spouting off about the American Auto Workers.

The truth is always hard for some of you to understand but this article contains what most of you never heard because you never took the time to check facts before writing nothing but rumors and hear say.

On Deadly intersection defies safety efforts

I traveled hwy 26 before it moved to it's current location and if cars can't make it up the hill on hwy 26 or stop at the intersection at N something is wrong, because the hill on N east of hwy 26 is steeper and cars stop and go up it during the same snow/ice conditions.

Accidents happen all year and a 4 way stop would certainly be a benefit.

The State and County will say it is too costly to install lights but I guess they don't put much of a value on a life.

When the speed limit is posted on a yellow sign, it is an advisory or recommended speed.

The posted legal speed limit is always on a white sign.

The speed limit is advisory only, the same as on curves.

I think whoanellie meant weight sensor switches to change the lights.

Stop lights would work, if it's snow/ice covered that means the county isn't doing there job of plowing and sanding properly, which is what the state pays them to do on 26.

Strange after all of these years not one person is smart enough to suggest installing stop lights on 26 & N

You better check your facts before making a statement like that.

On Waupaca County passes cell phone driving ban

Posted on November 19 at 9:01 a.m. ( Suggest removal )

I agree with the laws intent especially the text messaging but have some reservations about cell phone usage because I can now see cars pulled/parked 1/2 way off the roadway and people answering phones that don't have speaker phone capabilities causing another hazard to travelers.

A more thorough examination of the law enacted and they would have included a larger penalty than what currently exist for those not parked completely off the roadway before answering/talking.

Shopierehuh

Paid health Insurance or free doesn't really matter it was the workers who paid for it in place of increased wages and still are to this day.
