On Remembering the terrible costs of freedom
Perfectly stated "libertyissacred". Not only is American history vital, we can learn alot by studying world history and the civilizations before ours. We honor our late brothers and sisters by preserving what they fought for and paying it forward to the next generation. It's our duty.

@whz bng; Right on!! The buck stops where the leader starts!
@Walter, I see you're still playing the left vs right game. Still justifying the shortcomings of the left by pointing out all the shortcomings of the right. The truth is, there are no leaders on either side because none of them stand on principle. Again, both sides work for the same corporation which both sides have created. Until people like you and the rest of the lost learn that the leaders aren't found in any political party, the downward spiral will continue. The politicians goals are to keep the public fighting over the two sides while they continue to rob them blind. Way to play your part.

Don't you people understand?? It's the "Government" and "they're here to help". God help us.
On Marine, dog reunited in surprise ceremony
This is the type of media that the world needs to have a daily dose of! What a classy way to thank our veterans and heroes. We need to recognize more of these people of courage and we need to do it OFTEN! Thank you Mr. Gundlach and "Casey" for serving all of us!
@ onedayatatime. I agree wholeheartedly with you. Here's why it'll never change if left up two them. Both sides are part of the biggest corporation on the planet, known as the U.S. Government. Just like most other big corporations, it's all about getting to the top by any means necessary. The left and the right work for the same company and money and power is the driving force behind them all. The politicians (of both the left and right persuasion) promise handouts to enough groups until they have enough votes for re-election, thereby continuing the middle class squeeze. First, the “idle rich” bilk the middle class with monopoly positions protected by government politicians elected (bought) by the wealthy elite’s money. Second, the “idle poor” squeeze the middle, receiving hand outs courtesy of the government taxes taken from the middle class. Both idle classes receive benefits without effort. The rich gain through monopolies and the poor through handouts, both thanks to our government’s monopoly of force. In the meantime, the middle class runs faster and faster on the gerbil wheel never seeming to get ahead.
No accountabililty. There hasn't been any of any president in decades! That includes democrat's and republilcan's! In this case, it's one thing to make mistakes, but to lie and blatantly go out of your way to cover it up???I don't care what political party you're from, you have a sworn duty as the "LEADER" of this country, to act in a moral and ethical manner and do what's right.

On Poverty poses challenges for educators
The best teacher for any society has been and will always be HISTORY. Not the watered down, compromised public educational system's own view of history. There's a reason that we're constantly repeating the same things and over and over again and asking the question, "how did this happen?"
