On Future of City Hall rests with Edgerton voters

Residents taxes won't increase?
City officials have said the city could borrow $1.2 million for the project without raising taxes. They estimate the owner of a $100,000 home would pay $28.10 a year toward the project in property taxes.

Then where is the $28.10 coming from? Did they mean the wouldn't raise taxes "too much".

Is this just a badly written article, or just another example of the stupidity of Edgerton.
hmmmm......something to think about today.

I don’t want Edgerton to become a city like Verona or Waunakee or Sun Prairie—

What in the world....this "young" man needs to think about things before they spill out of his mouth. No wonder no one comes to Edgerton with comments like that being made. What does the "young" man have against Verona, Waunakee, and Sun Prairie. Oh, that's right, they have a thriving downtown. Something other than bars.
Sounds like he wants his cake and eat it too. You can't stay the same and change. One or the other. Growth means change......

rockresident, you have NO idea where I'm from or who I am. For you to make a statement "you out-of towners" is just the type of mentality that keeps Edgerton what Edgerton is, just a wide spot in the road. Until Edgerton finds jobs for the people that live there it will always be just a bedroom community. Have you been to Edgerton or have you just visited the Chamber web site. Everyone can paint a pretty picture when it best suits their needs.

There goes those rose colored glasses again.
rockresident, how much shopping do you do in Edgerton? Besides shopping the Pig or visiting the local drinking establishments. Parking downtown has improved? What planet are you on? You must work for the city. Beleive me, I am more informed than you may know. Risk losing their tentants? What tentants, apartment dwellers? You say Milton is a bedroom community, what do you think Edgerton is. How many people that live there work there? Are you informed on that area? Lead to the top? The top of what, a huge pile?

Funny.....I thought this was a forum for writing comments about articles, not being unkind to others. Rule number three in the agreement. Just in case you throw that stone back. I'm commenting on a situation that is very apparent. Edgerton is empty.....just a wide spot in the road.

Good for the Chamber to spend $7000 for marketing. Just what are they marketing? When people get to Edgerton and there is nothing there. They go away and tell at least three friends "don't go the Edgerton there is absolutely nothing there, unless you want to drink".....hmmmmmmm.....good marketing.

hmmm...looks that there are others of the same opinion of Edgerton. Wake up people it will never come to anything but what it is. Newville may very well surpass it for commerce. Non-retail business doesn't not bring people in from the lake. The condo's will most likely be bought by the same people that own across the street and rent to the same people who live across the street. Who else is going to want to live there? With railroad tracks behind them and nothing but bars in front.....great view huh?
