On Reflecting on Bielema’s leaving

Sigma, for three hours every Saturday and three hours every Sunday this time of year, I get to forget about my concerns for just a little while and enjoy watching a game. And yes, I get excited when "my team" wins, and feel a sense of disappointment when "my team" loses. If that makes my life seem trivial to you, I don't give a flying you-know-what.

Sigma, I know that's what you are talking about, as am I. Maybe it's just my bank that handles it that way, but my debit charges show up right away and so do my credit charges with my debit card. When I am out shopping, I check my account on my phone after I do the transaction and both appear right away. I only do "debit" at places like Woodman's that don't accept credit cards...otherwise, it's always processed as a credit card, and it shows up right away.

MrItalian, I disagree with your assessment of Bielema's history as a coach of Wisconsin. It's been far from excellent. He is 2-4 in bowl games, including two straight losses in the Rose Bowl. A coach of an elite program like Wisconsin cannot be 33% in bowl games and expect to keep his job for long.
It's time for him to go. He has proven too many times this year that he can't manage a clock and make sound decisions on fourth down when the team is in field goal range.

Sigma40, not true. If I do a "credit" transaction with my debit card, I can see the transaction on my Chase bank app on my phone within minutes (even seconds). Same with "debit" transactions with my debit card. The only difference is signing vs. using a pin number.

From Jennifer's facebook page:
Hi everyone! Thank you so much for your comments and for continuing to talk about this very important issue. Your voices are being heard.
I would like to address a criticism that has popped up regarding my use of the term "bully" and whether the e-mail at the center of my editorial truly constitutes the label. Does it have to be done in public? Does it have to be a repeated act? It's a fair point and a good discussion.
I am not a bullying expert and would never want to be considered one. However – I am a mom and a journalist. If my child came home and told me she received that type of negative e-mail from someone at school, there’s no way I would wait for it to happen again. Should we wait to speak up until someone is utterly beaten down by repeated rants? Or should we take a stand the first time to say, “this is not okay.”
...
Call it bullying, out of line, mean – call it what you want. I won't accept it and I don't think you should have to either.
Jennifer

Obesity, did you do your research on this situation before you spewed? If you did, you would know that Jennifer Livingston is a runner (5K, 10K and a marathon or two), and you would also know that she has a thyroid problem that prevents her from being able to lose weight like people with a normal thyroid can. I, too, have battled with weight issues for most of my adult life. I eat healthy and exercise...but losing weight is a challenge for me. Just because it comes easy for you, doesn't mean it comes easy for everyone.
And Nicksmom and saxcat, I disagree. No one was looking for 15 minutes of fame. Her husband posted the email on his facebook page...his facebook fans made it an issue and caused it to go viral. Telling her that she can't be a role model because of her weight....that is what is ridiculous!

We moved into a condo three years ago after selling a house that was "way too much house" for two people. We have no regrets and if we ever sell our condo, it will be for another condo in a neighborhood that we had our sights on before that didn't have any units for sale at the time that we were ready to buy. Will never buy a house ever again....hate lawn work and snow removal. I much prefer to pay a small fee to have that done for me.
