On Former Beloit official hired by Janesville officials
Janesville is lucky to have you, Dave, and Beloit's gonna miss you. Hope to see you at Farmer's Market on a fine spring day real soon!
On Radioisotope maker moves $4.6 million closer to start
They're building linear accelerators/cyclotrons for high energy bombardment to create medical isotopes. A requirement was that the site needed to include access to a certain capacity and quality of energy substation, with easy access to I-90 and I-43. Beloit had a modern substation, with plenty of capacity in place, coupled with cheap land - ready to build. And friends in Madison. Result = Winner.
On Virtual library: E-books mean no checkout, no fines
No Kindle support. Sigh...
"Q: What e-book readers will let me take out digital loans from local libraries?
"A: The answer boils down to "anything but the Kindle." Amazon's e-reader has many virtues, but compatibility with e-book library loans is not one of them. Amazon has yet to add the necessary software. "
On Newest Rock County park needs name
This should be easy: "Stone Bridge Park."
Anyone trying to sell top-shelf liquor on eBay or local Craigslist? ;-)

I make less than 30K, I don't get a raise.
What part of 'hard times' is it that some people working at taxpayer expense fail to understand?
Unbelievable and unfair to the thousands of Taxpayers paying these wages.
Where's a good tea party when you need one?
On Casino in works for Beloit?
This project's been in the works since 1997. And this is just a new iteration on that same theme.
Though, I have zero interest in gambling, this needs to get done.
Keep repeating to the powers that be... "Shovel ready, shovel ready..."
On Vendors questioning Farmers Market rejections
Downtown Beloit Farmers Market Pre-season Sale is 8 to 1 on Saturdays through the month of May. It's in the parking lot next to local foods market, Bushel & Peck’s on the corner of State & Grand in the heart of downtown Beloit. The regular Farmer's Market selling begins the first Saturday in June and runs through October.
(That first Saturday in June is also the annual "Carp Fest" fishing festival along the Rock River in Beloit. On a good day, it's hard to believe how many people show up for this; the river is crowded with fisherman at the crack of dawn!)
