AP Report:

A woman driving on Interstate 39/90 near Janesville Monday morning struck the rear end of a semi trailer not once but twice before losing control of her car and rolling it several times before being ejected from the car.

Linda Smith, 43, Beloit, was taken by MedFlight to UW Hospital in Madison with non-life threatening injuries following the crash that occurred about 7:20 a.m. in the northbound lanes of the interstate near mile marker 166.

The Wisconsin State Patrol said Smith was driving a Pontiac Grand Am, striking the rear of the semi trailer truck driven by Donald Hvidsten, 59, South Dakota.

After she struck the semi, she overcorrected her steering and struck it a second time before losing control.

An investigation into the cause of the accident is continuing.
