This is very sad and happens a lot more often than we think. Those little ones are so quick and can get out of sight without anyone knowing. My heart goes out to the mother and I sure hope the little boy is going to be alright.

After looking closer to the photo with this article, I see that those girls are selling door to door. I could be wrong when I said that they weren't allowed to do so. It was my understanding that they were not at one time.

I think the main reason that parents take the order sheets to work is because Girl Scouts are no longer allowed to sell cookies door to door. When I sold cookies, that was our main source of orders. With this not being an option, after the girls sell to their families they aren't left with many options. Therefore, parents take the sheets to work to help their daughter out. I don't think they are trying to do the work for them. Instead, they are just doing what they feel is right as a parent.

Milton is now using an automated call system to inform parents of school closings as well as emergencies that happen like bomb threats, ect. I think it would be nice if Jansville will do this too once Milton figures out if it works or not. BUT, Milton almost always closes WAY earlier than Janesville. It seems that Janesville doesn't announce they are closing until 4-5 AM.

Wow, this is very sad. I lost my best friend in a car accident ten years ago. She had just turned 19. Thank you to the man that stopped to help these young girls.
I remember the accident by True Value. Center Ave. is a easy road to speed on. It's a straight shot and sometimes you don't realize how fast you are going.
My prayers and sympathy go out to these families.
