Whatever happened to common sense? Seems to me if someone chooses to ignore the weather reports, Ignore the travel advisories and even ignore the weather outside there own car window and choose to continue there journey, they forfeit their right to complain about the time it takes for authorities to offer them help when they get stranded.

I have 4 at home, All boys. Oldest Bi-polar, One of the triplets ADHD, All doing marvelous. Oldest looking at scholarship to obtain BA in Theology after High school and a career in Ministry work and has the grades to be able to follow through, Youngest three active in the youth Ministry. I know where they are and with who at all times. They have plenty of opportunity to make decisions as well as the mistakes that go with them. My wife and I have made every effort to make them “In sight and In mind” .

Say what? Bad kids are not born, there raised. If you allow them to raise themselves without guidelines and structure thats when you end up wondering where there at. All kids will make some mistakes at one point or another, it's part of growing up. But it doesen't remove the accountability or responsibility from there parents.

I have been a personal caregiver for over 20 years and am sickened that anyone for any reason would find any justification for this type of behavior. We need to send a strong and clear message that this type of behavior will NOT be tolerated!! We as caregivers need to help the elderly or disabled live with the dignity and respect that they deserve. Helping them have the quality of life that we all hope for not taking advatage of people. To the family, being involved and keeping an eye out for even the smallest change of conditon is the biggest key and being willing to question when something just does not feel right. Kudos to you. I wish more elderly had family members such as yourself!

I agree with molly, I happen to know this man from a Pastorial relationship and don't believe he did this, But since they have already tried and convicted him via the media based solely on his past. What happins if none of the evidence supports there claims? Will they actually admit they may have been wrong? Will they actually look for someone else?
