I know for a fact that there were SEVERAL candidates that had experience..including a woman from Lake Como that would have loved the job and probably taken less in salary!

Your post does not make sense..How have DO,EE and CM cost the village more money? The outrageous amount of money spent thus far on attorney bills is unbelievable! DO and EE weren';t even on the board then. It seems to me and a lot of other people that it is time for the village to suck it up, offer some discipline and get our chief back!
I saw the agenda for Monday's meeting..For the Good of the Order has an item about creating an "Internet Policy" for village employees.. We are persecuting our chief and there wasn't even a policy in place?? Good grief!
How about telling our current "acting chief" to stop wasting my tax dollars by visiting for hours on end at current board members and citizens houses!

I for one saw the meeting notice at the post office..
Why is anyone concerned about it being on the blog? I think this medium of information is great!
Did you guys see that Elkhorn PD has twitter? Maybe Darien should, then EVERYONE could know of last minute meetings!

The only 1 board member opposed to the cell phone stipend was Mrs. K ..thanks for identifying yourself DarienGal
Furthermore why does Marc get $50 a month stipend for mileage when he lives in town and walks to the meetings??
3 month severance for the VA? How is it you are privy of his contract details when EE doesn't even have a copy yet!
I have never known someone to get a raise based on their incompetence. He can't even get dates straight!

And for your information Ms. Etten does not have the time to read the blogs let alone write on them. She works full time and commutes an hour each way..then has to fit in baseball and stuff in with her family! Then she has to accommodate all these frivolous special meetings..

who are you to point fingers at Debi? Debi has common sense and gathers info before she votes.. She doesn't consistently vote "NO" against what you want. I can't believe that a "Teacher" would be so unreasonable, and fight the VP every step of the way..

We have gone from Steve being a "purveyor of porn" to "thousands of pages of obscene and vulgar e-mail "jokes."....Obscene means offensive to accepted standards of decency or modesty... certainly not the same as pornography which is"the depiction of sexual behavior that is intended to arouse sexual excitement in its audience"

Let's do the right thing..re-instate Chief DeVoy...get rid of Maltease and Dennison! Furthermore I think that Mrs. K should be re-called due to her spreading of untruths and sucking the residents into this vortex of lies!

Why would anyone give up a job at the state with all it's perks to work for the village of Darien? No one would want the grief, and dealing with the incompetence of the 4 village board members that are carrying out vendetta's..The legal bills alone from the lawsuit against the chief and other erroneous lawsuits are what's bankrupting the village. Don't you think Steve DeVoy has been punished enough? Let's get our chief back so the officers morale is lifted and they start writing tickets!
Evelyn has only lived in Darien for 4 years and wanted to make Darien a better place to live. So she ran for VP..She is trying to do a good job, but is met with resistance every step of the way!
We have gotten in debt and have a huge mess from over the last 20 years of the Metzner / Wenzel / Danz reign..
We have the highest mill rate in Rock and Walworth counties..we are even higher than Lake Geneva.
Evelyn stood up for Darien, and wants to make a difference..this is something that cannot be fixed in 5 months!
Mrs. K has lived in Darien for eons, and her whole campaign was based on negativity! We can't change the colors of the rainbow!
