On Take the GM buyout, or play wait and see?

Nice, For those production workers who took the last buyout and sacrificed their bodies and personal lives for years get screwed again while the LAZY skilled trades keeps getting the rewards. What ever happened to solidarity and what we do for one follows for the others? They took the buyout based on the information given at the time of take it or transfer because it was the last buyout offer. But the UAW don't care anymore, they're now company owners

Good for Obama, he did what GM shareholders should of did years ago!!!! Any other failing company would have got rid of their CEO when losses started occurring in good times.

They can repoen it as a homeless shelter for when all the GM employees lose their houses and can't afford to do anything else since there are no jobs out there!

Rail is fine for going places if they're within walking distance from the terminal and the weather is nice enough, but you need to call for a ride to go to other places that'll cost you more money and time so it's easier and to just drive.

On GM to end 'jobs bank' Monday

Washington writes a blank check to Wall Street and the banks with no strings attached but the blue collar worker industry suffers. It's not just wages and benefits. The money (our taxpayer dollars) is supposed to be put into the system to help, but banks are holding on to the money, and now for those of us who are without jobs can't get loans to refinance debt to relieve some of the monthly expenditures. What's wrong with this picture? Most everyone is playing the blame game here but it all starts with Washington's demands on the auto industry! Right or wrong is just not fair! The UAW was around in the 70's and 80's when the D3 had these same issues and offered the same wages and benefits in perspective as they do now, so that just leaves mismanagement within the corporation.

If people can't walk or drive another 5 or 6 blocks to get there, something's wrong. Is it really profitable for Walgreens to build another one with 4 other ones in Janesville? I wouldn't be surprised in a couple years that some bean counter behind a desk realizes this and decides to close one or two. Janesville needs another Walgreens like they need another auto parts store.

These kids will learn more this way being hands on than they will ever out of a text book!! Sounds like an awesome program, more districts need something like this.
