On Janesville doctor writes about faith

gazettefan: I will ask him when I see him, I'm sure you will ask him when you see him as well. The circle of life, being born and dying are the only certain things in life. I've answered your question each time you've asked it, but are you listening? Doesn't appear to be. I don't say I have all the answers and if you want to help just one person eat and drink feel free to find away as millions of others are doing. It is up to us.

I know I won't "win" in your debate here, I don't have those answers you seek. My first comment stands, I know there is a God and I have faith. I'm happy to be a believer and I know I won't change your minds. You both (prounions and gazettefan) love to "debate" or "hate" anothers view point on any topic whether it be faith or political based. I don't need to beat you at your negative comments. Dr. Ragotzy (did you forget what this article is about?) wrote a book on his faith. I've read comments that he is a good doctor and a nice person, and it is a "blessing" that he is in a better place in his life. He doesn't need your approval and neither do I to live my life to be happy. I'm just sayin I believe.

gazettefan: again I say that is a question you will have to ask when you see him. I don't have all the answers, but maybe dirty water is better then none. Bad things happen, but so do good things. How about the 3 yr. old on the news this morning that had a pencil in her eye and head, and it touched nothing. Don't take the miracles away from your life because bad things also happen. And the babies dying are being cared for in heaven.

gazettefan, ask him when you get there. I said I know and I believe. I can't answer all the questions you might have but because you have questions doesn't mean he isn't real. You have to have faith. I am blessed I know that, but you do not know me (I don't know you) I could have been hungry, I could have been abused, but I have faith and prayer works. You talk about others being mean to you but I am just saying I have faith, I believe and it does not matter what other say. Whether we come from apes, whether there is life in another planet I know God and I am spreading the word he is real. If you don't know him, open your heart and you will find he is there. Life isn't always a piece of cake, he never said it would be but he is real. I have faith. If you want to tear apart my words or others that believe go ahead. I am only guilty of believing and knowing God, as is the man in this news article. If you do not want to read it don't. I'll pray for you anyway.

I believe, because I know my God has been in my life. He has answered my prayers. I don't have to go to church to know, although I believe you go to church to be with other people that believe. Some say there are many "Gods" so how do you know which is the way of life? Doesn't matter. And it doesn't matter to me if there is life on other planets with life on them. Doesn't matter what he or she looks like, they will be there to greet me when I go to heaven. I believe, because I know there is a God, and yes according to the doctor that is called faith.

On Obama weighing executive action on guns

Mr. Hammer, there was no where in my comment that said the "war was planned". My comment, was just as I felt after 9/11 the President had to do something (or face the ridicule of the people) so I think Pres. Obama feels he has to do something to prevent further problems with mental people going into a school and shooting innocent children. Is he doing the right thing? I don't know, nor do I think it will prevent this from happening in the future. Personally, I think Bush did something and based on his information was the right thing.

It is a shame that someone mental can go into any school and shoot 27 people. But this is the answer according to the President to keeping these weapons away from someone with the problems the shooter faced. It is like Bush going to war after 9/11. I have always said he had to do something, even if it was wrong. The American people want to see action to prevent the next casualty. Do I think this will prevent something bad happen like 9/11 or the Newtown casualty? No I don't think so. Sad that there are so many people out there wanting to hurt other people. Me, I just want the love, and it doesn't matter to me if it is a Democrat or Republican in charge. I just want the killing to stop and I don't think either party has a clue how to stop it.

On Retire now, teachers union advises

Posted on January 15 at 2:20 p.m. ( Suggest removal )

Wow, I missed reading a few days and now almost 200 posts later I have to say it is the union presidents "job" to advise what benefits the teachers best. If retiring gives them the bigger benefit they should retire. Do they all "want to"? Probably not all. But as it will maybe benefit them to do so, so will it benefit the school district by hiring someone new. The new teacher will have to contribute more to their healthcare/benefits, and they won't make as much wage as the teacher that has been teaching 20 years. I see it as a win/win for the teacher and the school district. Just because they have to hire a new teacher, does not mean the district will get a bad teacher. I do not work under a union and I contribute more than a teacher does. If I would be better off retiring today than tomorrow I would retire. That is all this article is saying (to me). And maybe the board is being secretive, because they do not have final decisions made. Why would they say anything before they know what they have to do?

On Superintendent Schulte on her way to China again

Seems they left alot out of this article, that would explain the importance of this trip (and even the first trip). I understand it is paid for privately (by her?), and is she using her own time or is she on the schools time? What benefit to have students coming here in June? Or is it we will send a student there in June and they have school? Is this the practice of other school districts to bring student/teachers here or there? Sounds like a waste of time and money to me, but maybe there is something we are missing.

On Seven (7) different kinds of cookies!

Corn flake Christmas wreaths (made like rice krispie treats using Corn flakes instead). Color the marshmallow green, make small wreaths and put a few red candies to dress them up! Simple to mix up but a b.... to make the wreaths because they are sticky to work with. But they are cute on a Christmas tray of cookies and good to eat. I've also made ONE huge wreath and sliced them.
