The school only called her cell phone at 9am and left a message, no other emergency contacts were called, I know because I am one of them. If the school persisted to leave a message with a person not just a message maybe just maybe my grandson would not of been in that freezing water for as long as he was. (or in a different case if he was grabbed by someone they would not of had him for 8 hours.) The only blame on his tragic accident is Brent, he knew better not to go to the water or the ice and unfortunatly he did, we love Brent very very much and our hearts are broken, we will miss him every single day. Some policies should be changed with the school, crossing guards, etc....along with signs along the inviting shore line of that nasty pond/lake. The Whitewater police though once they knew he was missing acted very very fast and actually found him within 45 minutes, my hat goes off to them for doing a job so well, I know I could never do their job. Thank you to all that has helped and prayed during this difficult time.
