No words can say how sad I am to see this happen to this lodge. I was a member of Lodge 14 as was my father (Art). The lodge in Evansville closed for lack of membership and it merged with Janesville lodge in the 70's. Evansville members were welcomed into Janesville lodge 14.
My father was Grand Master of the State of Wisconin Odd Fellows in 1980. I had many great memories that I shared with my dad in this lodge. We attended many of get togethers with the Odd Fellows and the Rebeckah's. My mom (Ruby)was a member of the Evansville Rebekah lodge. All of the great furnishings, picures and paperwork that was collected there over all those years is now lost.
My father has been gone for some 22 years now and my mom for 17 years, I know this would have been a real shock to both of them to see what happened to this Janesville landmark.
On Can lodge rise from the ashes?
