The uncle was living at the house, came home from work heard all the racket went to the room seen what was going on and went elsewhere in the house and then came back and did what ever he did. I lived near milwaukee when this happened and it was all over the local news. I am not trying to slander anybody but I do remember hearing something about one of the people involved in the case had H.I.V. I am not sure if it was one of the people who assulted the girl or if it was the girl that was assulted. Personally I believe all the cowards involved (including the 16 yr old girl that arrainged it)should get life without parole. Those people put that girl through hell. That is just my feelings though.

This state is hooked on taxing the people that live here. It is like a drug addiction. The state needs to get their fix. The next people they will try to go after when our state officials "come down from their high" is the people that buy from an Indian Reservation. I know one person that goes there to buy cigarette up in baraboo. I hope the next election is going to bring some change to our state.

On Janesville man facing seventh drunken driving charge

I was caught with a small amount of pot a couple years ago. It was less than 2 grams when the police put it on the scale. I was charged with a felony because it was my second offense. My SECOND offense people. The DA (not rock county) wanted to lock me up for 6 months. I am not trying to start a debate about pot. All I am trying to say is that this guy killed someone because he was drinking and driving. He should have been locked up for 20 years. He gets out and a few years later he was arrested on CONSECUTIVE nights and once more since then. I hate to think how much time I would get if I was caught with pot seven times. I would probly be doing at least a couple years in prison. I guess my whole point of this comment is to say that You should be charged with a felony after your 3rd conviction and not you 5th. There really is no fix to DUI problem, other than prohibition and even that wouldn't stop it. I hope this guy gets a couple years in prison.
On Man uses pocketknife in robbery attempt

People never cease to amaze me. A couple years ago a guy tried to rob a bar in Kenosha, Wi. I believe he went it unarmed and tried to use a broken beer bottle as a weapon, anyways to make a long story short, the bartender broke this guy's arm. The police found him a couple blocks away hiding under a car. His reason for trying to rob the bar was that he needed money for crack. I am not trying to profile anyone but my first guess would be that there is a good chance this person is a drug addict. This guy needs help with his addiction while he is locked us. (assuming the police will catch him) I am glad the lady and her son didn't get hurt. Smart thinking on her part.

snitches........... Janesville is full of 'em. That is why so many people get popped off for weed charges. Potheads need to learn that there is no money in selling pot, the risk is 10 times larger that the "reward". These idiots will either get probation (if they choose to snitch) of prison (if they choose to not snitch) and guess what, I am willing to bet that they will in turn snitch and the game goes on and on. The best tool that the JPD has in the fight against drugs is snitches not their K-9 unit. All you other drug dealers better beware. The JPD is coming after you.

On Who bears the greatest responsiblity for combatting gang activity in Janesville?

My vote went with the police. I hate to say it but the community cannot count on the parents to discourage gang activity. I am sure that a few of these parents are or were gang members themselves and don't care that their children are gang members. I was a "gang member" when I was younger. My parents had no idea until one of my friends was put into a coma and the police started coming around my house to investigate. I feel that the police should be the ones that lead the fight against gangs. It may not be totally fair that the responsiblity falls on the police but the schools dont have the resources to lead the fight, parents don't have the knowledge and the "others" don't have the dedication.
