On City bus ridership falls

that's exactly what I mean, Macdaddy. JTS is a small town system & small town systems are generally used by disabled, elderly & kids--those that can not drive. Janesville is not big enough to support buses going everywhere in the area. JTS does a pretty good job with what they have to work with.

Short buses are something JTS has considered, but they cost $$ too & lots of it. Then, what route do you put them on? Believe it or not, not every route runs empty all day long. There are "peek" times when the buses may have standing room only--if there were short buses, JTS would have to turn passengers away! About the only place it makes sense to have short buses is on Nightside, but does the benefit outweigh the cost of buying special buses for Nightside? So far, the studies done IN HOUSE have said no.

Public transit is very widely used in larger cities. And larger cities (like Madison & Milwaukee) is where light rail would be located & USED. JTS is attempting to serve the entire town without a lot of resources. For the people that need the JTS, they don't run often enough or go to enough places.

I honestly thought Mercy East's Urgent Care was open 24/7. I apologize if I was incorrect in that. I do understand sick, crying children.

yes, it would be nice to have the route alternated. Yes, we do live on a busy street, which is part of why I think they should move the route.

Yes, I had issues w/angelwings last year, but since her boyfriend kicked her out, that problem has been solved.

We expected noise on our street when we bought the house, but 30 minutes of that ROAR is ridiculous. I would be happy to support the run...if it was somewhere else.

Why go to the ER for an ear infection? Why not go to Urgent Care? That is the reason the ER gets so bogged down--inconsiterate people that use it like a doctor's office--and then have the balls to COMPLAIN it took too long!

I'm probably going to get slammed for this, but I live on the run's route & I don't enjoy the noise or the "parade". Why is it ALWAYS the same route??? Why can't it be changed a little bit so the same residents aren't subjected to it year after year?

We are going out of town to avoid it tomorrow, but there was one year (first that we lived here) that we didn't know what the heck was going on & couldn't get home until it was over.

Yes, it's a good cause, but I just think the route should be changed yearly--perhaps have two different routes that can be alternated...?

Yes, the military cuts jobs too. It's called a RIF--Reduction in Forces. Civilians don't hear about it that offen, but it does happen. My husband was RIFFED, so I know what I'm talking about.

spikesmom--I'm not saying your husband or other GM RETIREES can not work, but it is hard for those of us that are unemployed, have no benefits of any kind any longer to lose a job to someone who has retirement benefits. Again, I understand your husband has a right to work, I'm just trying to explain how some people may feel about it.

The Department of Defense is so far out of date & anyone that has been in the military recently knows that.

I too am happy with my female body, but I have had some very close friends that were gay & I understand they did not CHOSE to be gay, they were BORN that way.

In fact, one of my B-I-Ls is an IDENTICAL twin and gay. The other brother-in-law is married, presumably straight & has 3 children. The two brothers participated in a study done at Northwestern many years ago where they studied gay & straight twin sets.

Anyway, I agree that the transgender person is not making the choice to "mutilate" their body...they feel they HAVE to do it to become who they truly are.
