On Keeping Rock Around the Block

Why does every event in this town have to be kid friendly? I have kids and grandkids but IMO not every event should be kid or family friendly. Is there no room for one event to exclude kids? Do I have to only see and hear sesame street programs so not to offend kids? I am sorry if you can't find a sitter to watch your kids but that means you stay home.It does not mean the adults should have to change activities so you can bring your kids. Enough already. On the larger subject changing the event to October is a dumb idea who wants to be outside in the cold to listen to anything. This date seems sure to kill the event then you can call it deadrock around the block.

This is all good until some little kid gets sick or dies because of tainted milk, then listen to these same people complain how the government failed to regulate the milk supply and keep people safe. You can't have it both ways either you regulate and enforce or you let people do as they choose and get sick or die. Years ago the people of WI via their legislature decided to regulate, they made the right decision.

Why should I pay tax to WI for an item I bought from a company in FL? They are making this a headache for everyone. Charge the tax of the state where the item is purchased not the home state unless its bought in your home state. I understand brick and mortar places feel they are at a disadvantage but making every business in the US figure taxes for all states is asinine.

On Janesville City Council hires firm in city manager search

What is wrong with a mayor and alderman form of city government that way each district of the city would get equal representation. The city manager at large council form may have been ok when Janesville was a town but we should have changed to a mayor alderman system long ago. At least if I had an alderman I would know who to contact when I have an issue with the city.

What is the rest of the story? There are many questions not asked and many answer not given. It used to be if the story was writen by an A.P. writer you got all the facts and could make an informed choice about what was and was not the truth. This writer should be ashamed to have submitted this worthless article and the Gazette should not have wasted the ink on pritning it.

The union workers in this city bargained in good faith over the years and now have more days off then non-union members. Gee what a shock the union did what the members pay dues for, kind of makes you want to join a union doesn't it. Next thing you know union workers will get better pay too. What? They already do.Oh my God where do I sign up.
