On Smoke-free housing effort keeps gaining momentum

Posted on February 8 at 10:50 p.m. ( Suggest removal )

We are Landlords and all of our rental properties are smoke free. The smell never really comes out of the woodwork, walls, and whatever else it permeates. Not only does smoking create a high risk fire hazard, it often leaves damage caused by dropped cigarettes (Burned carpet and linoleum) complete with a nice yellow film on the walls, drapery, and cabinets. The way I see it, if you don't like my rules, don't live in my house. Go get yourself a mortgage, not a rental agreement.

On Unemployment rate up slightly locally

Like I have implied before...it's the QUALITY of the candidates that are available. Sadly, doesn't seem like much to choose from anymore. Hard for a business to grow when reliable, trustworthy, skilled and dedicated help is hard to find. Many people out there have a sense of entitlement like I have never seen before and having a strong work ethic seems to be a foreign concept from generations gone by.

On Unemployment up in nearly all cities, counties

Well, we have open positions to offer the right person. The jobs are out there. Did you ever think that the problem here is not lack of jobs, but lack of qualified candidates, thus, large unemployment rates?

On Balancing your books

I use my credit card for a pack of gum and everything else I buy. Every time, except for Woodmans, so I frequent Sentry or Logli because they do accept credit. We earn cash towards maintenance fees on our timeshare when we use the card. I'll charge anything I can. The trick is to discipline yourself to pay the balance in full each month to avoid the finance charges. Easy, cheesy.

Dwight- you sure about that? I think Wisconsin has early voting AND no-excuse absentee voting. Either way, vote.

On VP Debate: Biden, Ryan at each other on everything

Posted on October 12 at 9:47 a.m. ( Suggest removal )

After last night's display of complete disrespect from Biden, I am ashamed and embarrassed to call him our Vice President. He was nothing but a rude, sneering jerk. I'm sure the "undecided" are a little more decided this morning, swaying toward a vote for the Romney/Ryan ticket. There really is a lot to be said about a man's character. The issues facing our Nation are certainly NOT funny. Scarey to think this joker is a heartbeat away from running the Country. Come November, the silent majority will speak once again - President Romney/Vice-President Ryan.
