Mr. Peck, I can assure you don't have a corner on the market when it comes to critics! Try being a dealer in "hope" once! It's the one thing people need most today, yet, when you try and reach out to these people...the flood gates open! Most people run for that security zone that's gotten them the results they have in life right now and the "uninformed" take great pleasure in mocking those reaching out to help people. It's the AGE of Information now. Information at the speed of thought and a great deal of it is negative and/or bad information. Thus, people today becoming more and more "misinformed" rather than just "uninformed"! This was an enlightening article by you. Thanks for that.

Kleej...Amen. I'm with you. It's the courageous who make the difference in this world. It's the complacent who are blind to it. The media has done a number on this culture for sure. Anyone who denies that or thinks it's no big deal has given up their right to complain about what other people do to them.

irebout, my question is, go back to school for what? To land another job that lasts 3 years before it becomes outdated so they can take out more studen loans and get re-educated for another job that is outdated by the time they graduate from the program? I'm not playing devil's advocate here, I hope you understand that. What you're saying makes sense, it just made more sense before this information driven economy that's now upon us.

chad, I'd never knock a formal education, but, in this new economy, the plethora of opportunity is in self-educating programs that people have wrinkled their noses up at for a long time..including me. Not anymore!

janesvillian, ....or why not shop from a company that is forced to drastically slash prices and/or pay back bonuses to the shoppers for being loyal to their store which is what I do? When you have the power and influence of a "community" of shoppers vs one or two shoppers, you start making the new rules and the companies either comply or you'll take your community elsewhere to someone who will. Trust me, they will! I agree with your assessment that it's a wierd way of looking at it, but, it's going to take thinking out of the box to get different results. I'm not saying everyone will agree with it, but, I'm living it along with a great deal more of other people as well so there's definitely something to it!

Why don't politicians tell the truth?? It's an easy answer if you simply look to the root of the issue......it's not profitable! The same applies to people in general. Why do people lie? We live in an instant gratification society. Living by principles and truth doesn't always get us what we want "right now". Politicians are elected based on the "what's in it for me" mindset. The good of the few vs the good of the many. Our society is literally up for grabs now because doing what is right has been compromised by too many doing what is wrong even though they know it's not right!!! Even more scary, we have generations of people now who don't even know the difference anymore~ that's even scarier!
