On 'Popcorn Friday' proceeds aid retired Milton teacher

Posted on May 18 at 4:40 p.m. ( Suggest removal )

Mr Rotar also coached 8th grade girls basketball for many years and refed many intermeral basketball games over the years. Being a Polio surviver never slowed him down.
.
I remember the popcorn parties but I also remember the love of Butterfinger Candy bars Mr Rotar had. Anyone could get extra credit if you took him a wrapper from a butterfinger that he had not seen or have. He was said to have them displayed on his office wall.

Amen Woody!!!! I personally know people that have had dealings with Mr Watson (and I use that term VERY loosely). He is worse then his father-in-law was. All he is interested in is how much land he can get his grubby little hands on and it making him richer than he already is. Not to mention the tax shelter it gives him! RUN SCOTT RUN!!!!! Take your chances with the town board not with this money hungry leach.

On Milton struggling with longer bus rides for students

Posted on October 21 at 7 p.m. ( Suggest removal )

There is another issue that is not even addressed here that is also just as concerning as long bus rides. It is that children are being dropped off at intersections and are walking up to a quarter of a mile home from the bus!!!

I personally have observed this happening more then once on 2 different routes. At these intersections there are no visible homes from the corner which means there is a very good chance that someone could kidnap these children and no one would know for quite a long time or even worse they could get hit by another vehicle (both places have a somewhat heavy, fast traffic flow). When Riteway is asked about it they just say it is a cost cutting measure.

I'm sorry when you have intown families BUYING seats on a route because they dont want their children to walk. WHY THEN IS THE BUS COMPANY MAKING THAT DECISION FOR THE COUNTRY KIDS?!?!? Their number 1 concern is supose to be for the safety of these children. IMO Riteway does not care and will continue not to care.

Schools need to get rid of the the electronics and go back to the basics!!!!! Thats the whole problem here. They feel if there is a gadget to do it for you so why teach someone to do it for themselves.

On Attendance slide ends for Rock County 4-H Fair

Posted on July 30 at 4:31 p.m. ( Suggest removal )

The Gazette coverage of the fair was at best NON-EXSISTANT. Gone are the days of LOCAL news being important to the LOCAL news people. I can get better local news from the small town weeklies for half the cost. In my opinion, the reason fair attentance is so down is because the GAZETTE does NOT support it by giving it the coverage it truly deservse and did get 25-30 years ago.

On Magnolia barred from beefing up farm water rules

KUDOOOS To the State Supreme Court! Larson's are heroes in my book. They stood up for what they believe right and didnt back down.

Way back in the beginning my brother said that the townboard, Adams and his followers better watch out. They keep saying Larson Acres is a factory farm (aka big business) not a family farm. If Larson Acres was a big cooperation when everything was said and done they would go after the Township and the people who started it all for ALL THE LEGAL AND COURT COSTS they had encured over the years. Personally I hope they do.

Schools need to do a better job of teaching better grammer and writing skills. It is amazing how many people have graduated high school and cannot write a complete sentence let alone it be grammaticly (sp?) correct.
