"Where History is not being rewritten" - Many christian schools teach that the earth is only 4000 years old and that dinosaurs never existed (those bones were put there by Satan).

There are plenty of bullies in christian schools.

Christian schools are quite conservative. 99.9% of the teachers try to get students to think conservative and badmouth any liberal view.

That's not for certain at all. In fact, quite the opposite.

As expected, a link to someone else's video on Common Core without an original thought. Bowlgal, you really are just a mouthpiece for the right wingers.

On the upside, that's the best sentence I've ever seen from you. There is hope for you yet. The sad part is that the parents should (and can) be the driving force behind their children's education but most have abdicated that responsibility.
.
What most people don't realize is that sending the children to private schools on the taxpayer dime isn't going to magically make those kids better students. Private schools that work well do so because parents are involved and invested in the education of the child. They volunteer their time to the school. They help the kids with their homework and make sure the work gets done well. They come to concerts, sports events and conferences. They stay in communication with the teachers. Given for "free" on voucher money, absent parents (in terms of education and letting someone else raise the children) are still absent parents. If they have no skin in the game, they won't appreciate the private school nor invest the time and energy required for the success of the children.

Bowlgal, I'm willing to bet you have never read and/or can't name a single one of the Common Core standards without doing an internet search. You have no what what they are, you just speak out against them because you heard one of your right wing ideologues do so. I know this is true because you call them indoctrination, when they aren't actually of any political or religious persuasion but rather a set of educational standards. If this is not true, please give a coherent argument on why Common Core is bad and exactly what is wrong with it in your own words.

Also, please learn to write a proper sentence. You often say, "Get the unions out of the schools and back into the hands of the parents." This sentence means you want unions in the hands of the parents, an interesting concept to be sure, but not a reform for education. Your inability to use correct grammar and punctuation makes you look uneducated.

The haters like broad generalizations but the facts are against them. The facts are that most of our public schools are succeeding. The documented evidence shows that voucher schools are not better than public schools. You have choice; you can send your child to any public school in the state. You can also home school if you don't like the public schools. Information on public schools is readily available; if you want to know about the test scores, budget, etc. you need merely got to the school district and ask for the information.

comments - just curious, have you read both bills in their entirety? I would love to have a succinct comparison of the two. If the previous one was better and had previously passed both houses, I wonder why they went with the ALEC schlock that we ended up with.
