Lets look at the city council ballot shall we? Nope no cardtrader on the there must be nice to be an arm chair quarterback. Want change get involved instead of spending your time complaining. Got ideas try attending some council meetings. Unless you communicate your ideas it means nothing.

On Interim chief stepping into uncertainty: Department has been without chief or contract two months

miltonite56 there is no one who can "oust" this committee. These people are appointed by the mayor and by state statute they can only be replaced if one resigns or the mayor can replace one a year. A police commission has a huge amount of power all given to them by state statute. The council has virtually no power over them except that they control the purse strings for anyone or anything they may bring before the council.Public pressure should be brought to bear for these people to resign. So far they really have accomplished nothing except to create low moral in the police dept. And make Milton's process the butt of jokes. How much more they do or don't do is up to the people of Milton.

I have known Officer Justice for years and I can tell you he is not a crooked cop. Seems that some here have met Officer Justice in person and you got a ticket or at the very least a good chewing out. Its too bad Officer Justice had to do what your parents failed to do in the first place. Officer Justice is a man of honor and honesty and has my full support. Enough about small town cops all being bad its just the Gazette really likes to beat on anything that makes anyone look bad. And forget facts or getting the whole story. Thats why the Janesville Gazette is best left for the bottom of the bird cage.

On Take two: Commission will meet again to pick top cop

Well starski7 are we going to see your name on a ballot? Boy I hope so its really not too hard to vote in Milton when all you get is the same people running everytime. Oh sure once in a while you get the one issue canidates who people see right through and are smart enough to not put in office. The council has 3 open seats up this spring and so far there are only 4 people that I am aware of that are either done ciculating thier papers or are doing so. You have until January 2nd to get the 20 or more signitures and fill out your papers to get on the ballot. The counicl meets twice a month and then whatever commitees the alderperson is on meet once a month. During budget time the council sometimes meets twice a week until the budget is done which takes about a month or two. But your right about one thing its very easy to sit and complain instead of doing something to make your city better.

Well Teeber you can clean house in the spring elections but all the members of the police commission are appointed by the mayor. So that will get you no where. The city council and the city were not aware that this meeting was even going to take place. And this commission has not met in over a year. Thats still no excuse for not knowing the laws in place. Please call your council members and let them know of your distaste for this type of thing. Milton City Council meets tomorrow night at 7:30 pm so call your council members before then or go to the meeting. And this is not a council mistake this is a police commission mistake who like I said are appointed by the mayor.

On Milton commission held illegal meeting

Well if all of these people that think we are doing things all wrong in Milton run for a council seat it should be a very interesting election. But that won't happen its alot easier to sit behind your key board and run your mouths than put in the time and effort that it takes to run a city. As for Teeber please stay gone your negative attitude is something the people of Milton don't need. Seems funny that even with one incumbent not running there are still going to be just enough names to fill the current council seats that are up next year. So put up or shut up you have until January 2nd to get your papers in so get to it.And by the way our city administrator is not from Milwaukee he's from Elkhorn and does a great job for the city of Milton. Again check your facts before turning you small little minds loose. Now come Monday go to city hall and get your papers and get them filled out.
