The other fallacy leaving many feeling wonting....They report $787B as stimulus funding, but very little of that was actually infrastructure related.....all told less than 10%.....It was a scam....they used the message of fixing infrastrucuture as an excuse....in reality it was an everything but infrastructure bill.

On City to address funding for extra plowing

It's just assinine to prepare a budget for conditions that are rare...No one can seriously argue that a budget be prepared for this type of extreme anomaly....that's just dumb

On Blacks hired to smooth Janesville schools’ transition to diversity

The headline seems wrong...I can't put my finger on it, but it bugs me.

Just seems like a headline oriented to the color of skin instead of the content of character.

On Junior hockey team may locate here

Posted on January 17 at 1 p.m. ( Suggest removal )

The team will essentially pay for it. They'll use ice time currently not scheduled. So the ice arena will be selling unused time which = more revenue. Also, brings in an additional venue which means more concession revenue, which ultimately means a bigger piece of the pie for all involved.
*
The cost is 200k for some minimal improvements that won't be lost if the team doesn't make it.
*
It's not always cost, ya gotta look at both sides of the equation. It looks to me like a winner of an investment risk.

On Council tables changes to charter ordinance

Changes to the form of govt. should only be through referendum. Rashkin stated exactly why that should be....when small incremental changes are justified, before you know it, it's changed. Don't mess with the charter.

I can almost guarantee that if you call the City with real questions like you just posted here they'd give you reasonable answers.

Rex,
You are just a whiner who doesn't know what you're talking about.

Why don't you schedule a time with Whitcomb and go found out the truth. I'm willing to bet your claims are completely false. Go ahead find out the truth before you start blathering your BS here.

other potential questions raised in this article. Are there technical issues? Does the load have potential impacts on electrical workers and neighbors? Additional reasons to think about changes like this carefully.

bill and nemesis,
who exactly is this "government" you speak of?
*
Hint: take a look in the mirror
*
Most government rules are legislated on the behest of citizens. There are real reasons for the regulation of land use.
*
Let's all imagine a subdivision of backyards full of ineffective solar panels 21' in the air instead of planting a few trees......hmmmmm, aren't trees one of the biggest CO2 gobblers on the planet
