On Rock County's airport on FAA tower closure list

I wonder what our conservative City Council member Mr. Kealy is thinking about how this will affect his restaurant out there at the airport?

WSP - I'm guessing you're confused about the restaurant SUBWAY as well?
WTP - The reason Lacrosse has to use the fieldhouse so late is that they aren't an official school activity, which get higher priority. Perhaps the lacrosse team should get their homework and studies done BEFORE practice.
On Janesville crews removing trees to beat back ash borer

It's simple logic, but still unfortunate-- cutting down the trees before they are known to be infected. First, you thin out the trees to hopefully slow the spread. But, more importantly to the city is that you won't really know when it's infected until it's too late. And if it's too late as they stated in the article the tree is significantly weakened and could create a public safety issue.
On Teacher exams: an overdue reform

This is old news in Wisconsin. Since August of 2004 ALL new teachers have had to take a content area test before receiving their teaching license.
On Dress code for Janesville school employees proposed

What the article doesn't mention is the exceptions that the technical education (or more accurately technology education) teachers get is for wearing jeans instead of dress clothing. However, there is many brands of dressier clothing manufacturers out there that still make very durable clothing for similar lines of work. Example: Duluth Trading company, Dickies, etc... Bottom line: to be taken seriously you have to not just act the part but also dress the part.

fearanddummies... I suppose you believe that police officers and firefighters should be allowed to vote late as well since they too are putting their lives on the line? What, then about our veterans, they put their lives on the line as well?
I do absolutely agree with you about your second comment. Each side only fights for the side that they think will help them.

Say what you want about Mercy... but how can someone block a company from opening up shop just to "protect" current local businesses? Isn't this a sort of collusion? Whatever happened to free market? Competition?

On Our endorsement in DPI race

Geez... the Gazette is going to endorse someone... who could it be? Although this race isn't partisan. Anyone who is even half paying attention knows which side either candidate aligns. Could the Gazette endorse "democrat" leaning Evers? Or will they endorse another "Republican"? I'd be surprised, even shocked if the Gazette endorsed Evers. What I am waiting for though is the Gazette to endorse another Republican and then have Scott Angus defend and make more apologies for the Gazette's choice.
