This guy Bill returning from Florida must have many houses. One in Janesville and one in the Quad-cities, and Flordia. My mom sent me an identical newspaper clipping from the Quad-city paper a month ago. Word for word, the exact comment Mr. Peck received. This mysterious "Mr.Bill" must be a rich man to afford all these water bills!

No vote on gun control.
Should Congress vote to register people that express dangerous speech, like some people in the press? Should Congress cherry pick certain constitutional rights they don't like and vote when one political party has the majority. If thats the case perhaps twenty years from now congress will vote on freedom of the press, or speech. Why, because free speech damages politicians political careers.
Their are many countries with strict gun control like Mexico, doesn't work.
To require law abiding citizens to jump through bureaucratic red tape while criminals get guns on the black market does nothing to make citizens safe.
Congress can't even pass a budget, what makes people think congress can pass a great gun control law?
On Should state enact sobriety checkpoints?

Checkpoints are already going on in Rock county even if they are illegal in the Wisconsin State statutes. Reading the history of checkpoints going back to 1990's Michigan State Police vs Sitz the Supreme Court ruled DWI/OWI checkpoints are a 4Th amendment violation however, in the interest of public safety, it has priority to stop drunks from driving and injuring citizens. Not seat belt violations, not drug searches, not probation violators, drunks period. Also rules have to be followed. There has to be an education component by putting it in a newspaper to tell everyone a safety stop will be conducted at a location at a certain time. Also people get advanced warning to avoid the safety checkpoint by advertising in advance.
Oct. 15, 2011 The Gazette ran an article that 40 people were arrested at an interdiction point, conducted by Rock county Sheriff Dept. Janesville Police, Wisconsin State police, Dept. of Corrections parole office, and the Milwaukee High-density Drug trafficking areas people. This is a clear violation of the original intention of the Supreme Court ruling. I'm so glad to live in Wisconsin where interdiction points are still illegal.
If a women in Texas fought a seat belt ticket all the way to the Supreme Court costing over a hundred thousand Dollars, and she lost, will I sit back and do nothing if pulled over? I guess we will have to Waite until I get pulled over to find out.

I've had almost three accidents at Menard's, only because I know how dangerous they are and break for Menard's traffic that blow past the yield sign as I head west.

Where is the 2 billion IOU in the transportation (so called) trust fund the politicians raided the past 10-20 years? Tell me where that money went, and what we have to show for it.
Now raise fees & taxes so when the fund runs a surplus they can raid it again. What a scam!

Government antitrust laws forcing Dean foods sell to a unstable business to avoid litigation was not in the best interest of the public. If there is a bad guy here, it's the government fowling things up with laws that go against common business sense.

Badgers are a young team with lots of underclassmen. They will be back next year.
I was disappointed Badgers tried to throw the ball the second half. Nothing will kill your opponents momentum better than running over them. Like the Badgers did in the first half.

Someone finally told the president, "we have a problem". Or, is this a John McCain moment, and the president is returning to Washington to save us in this time of national emergency?

Quote; "There is no evidence, or even a serious allegation, that the NSA has made political use of data it has gathered".
If this is the case, why did General Petraeus have resign after the e-mails uncovered his affairs?
If this surveillance is legal, why did Internet servers like Google get immunity? Why did they need immunity?
Are the e-mails of our representatives in congress being monitored then passed to the white house?
Did the Romney/Ryan campaign have their e-mails and cell phones monitored and passed on to the Obama/Biden campaign?
Not saying this happened, but it is possible for the next election, and we don't know what information that will be passed to Democrats or Republicans.
Most of us old enough to vote back in the day remember Watergate. What were the plumbers unit from the White house looking for?? Information. June 1972 Nixon's men broke-in the Democratic headquarters and got caught looking for information to help Nixon with the election. One of the biggest political blunders in the history of politics as Nixon beat McGovern in a landslide that November.
