On Social conservatives are alienating ethnic populations

Posted on November 19 at 2:58 p.m. ( Suggest removal )

If conservatives are the problem, why did Governor Walker win twice?

If conservatives are the problem, why did McCain get more votes than Romney.

Why did President Obama get 69,498,516 votes in 2008, and only 61,173,739 in 2012. That's 8.3 million less than 2008.

Why did 126 million people vote in 2012, and 93 million people stayed home and did not vote?

I believe Mittens failed to get out the vote.

I believe the large crowds reported by Drudge and other east coast elite republicans was just propaganda.

As one Ron Paul supporter told me on election day, "I never vote for that rotten Romney after what they did in the primaries to Paul and other conservatives".

Romney savaged conservatives in the primaries, then tried to be Mr. Rodgers the nice guy against Obama.

That is why conservatives didn't trust Romney, and that's why he didn't get more of their votes. Many stayed home.

On Domestic partners must prove commitment, city council says

In order to qualify both names need to be on the mortgage/lease, joint bank accounts. Change IRS tax filing status to include domestic partners so people can file joint returns. Responsibilities should go along with benefits.

On Obama powers to re-election despite weak economy

I'm shocked that 60% of voters want taxes raised when Washington D.C. spends $11 out of every $7 dollars it collects.

This is the will of the people.

The dollar is becoming so worthless, the good news is, it's only paper.

On Ryan retains seat in 1st District

First thing Rob needs to do is repudiate the Chicago Bears and become a Packer fan.

I also was born & raised in Illinois. When do we stop being a fib and become a true Wisconsin Badger?

I think it is when we see the light, and become born again.

We no longer root for the bears, check.
We no longer root for the fighting Illini, check.
We no longer drink Bud, and drink Miller, (still working on that one).

Just don't try to deceive people that you are not from Chicago, like in your political ads you mentioned you were born in small Illinois town down by St.Louis, and was a small business man before selling the business and moving to Wisconsin.

On Wis. Senate Dem leader steps down

Why didn't this guy step down before the election, and give the people a choice to fill his seat on Nov.6? Now another election.

If a candidate has had enough and time to move on, fine.

If he is quiting because he is in the minority, then good-by & good riddance.

On Will it be Obama or Romney?

Romney wasn't my first choice, nor my 2ND, 3rd, 4Th, 5Th or 6Th.

When I looked at a man that is a self made millionaire that came from a wealthy family, that still taught Sunday school, remained married to his 1960's sweetheart, and raised 5 boys that never get their names in the tabloids, I'm all in for Mitt.

On Should voters re-elect Ryan over Zerban?

I went to Zerban's web site and a nice big picture of Paul Ryan.

Zerban is from Chicago, and says he will support the Progressives. No new ideas here.

On Dane County dealing with bacterial infection

I've walked out of a few restaurants after observing the food handlers, but most people are uninformed on what to look for. I will say the county health inspectors in Rock County and Jefferson County that schooled me in food safety are the very best.

On Flier contained mistake, not endorsement: Kolste

I'm tired of people taking "full responsibility" with no consequences. Hillary Clinton took full responsibility that means nothing, no resignation, just move on. On the other hand, if a taxpayer is held accountable they can get fines, late fees, interest penalties and sometimes incarceration. If a military person is held accountable they can possibly receive a court martial, reduction in rank, confinement, forfeiture of pay. A business held accountable can lose their money and license.

If there are no consequences, it's just empty words.

On Budget would increase trash fee

Still struggling with the 22% water sewer rates. Guess the retirees will just settle for cheaper dog food. So happy Janesville invested 5 million for new garbage trucks & containers.
