You have seen nothing yet.Millions and millions of dollars have left Janesville for good.I do not understand why you are complaining now.I hope no other company leaves Janesville.

On Share memories of GM in Janesville

Posted on December 17 at 12:33 p.m. ( Suggest removal )

I was hired in 2002 not long enough to have alot of memories. But the memories I do have are people helping people. Not just on the line, but for the community!!!!!!!! GM worker's like myself have alway's gotten a bad wrap. The memories I do have are working in the job's bank, floating from one department to the next. Meeting so many different, but unique people. So many people willing to help if you need help. Not hesitating to help you out. All member's of management, TC's releaving you for potty break's to CI's filling in for you while your gone. People helping people. That's what this company is all about. We make DARN GOOD PRODUCTS, product's that we should all be PROUD of, and I was blessed to be part of that. I didn't have any relative's that worked there. I got in with the luck of the draw, when they were hiring. We all work hard for our pay. I remember coming home, it looked as though I was beaten so many brusies on my body. Not wanting to go back, but I did because I new I was a fighter not a quiter. Two hand surgeries, problem's with my back, wanting to get off my feet. But I kept going, because that's what we do!! Were survivor's not quiter's, we all will get through this!!!! I wish you all BEST OF LUCK till we all meet again!!!

If I could leave a message, my message would be that I have met so many wonderful people along my way. All the people that have helped Janesville in so many different way's that at time's, I don't feel that Janesville is aware of all the kind thing's that these people have done!!!!!!!!!!!!! I only wish them happiness and peace!! I know time's will be tough, because I have seen tough time's before I started there. They will have to learn how to live a new life and it may be difficult, but you will survive, because no matter how difficult thing's can and will get, you will get through it. We all will be okay!!!

On Avoiding blame in auto industry crisis

Mr. Garyprimer, I should have said the middle class sooner or later won't exsist. The gready one's on top want it all! You will either be rich or you will be poor. One thing I don't understand is why as American's would we want the U.S. auto industry to fail? Why wouldn't we want the forein companies fail? I don't want to see anyone fail, but as a U.S. citizen, why would I want the U.S. auto industry to fail!!!!!!!!! Everyone is complaining about the (bailout) loan and that the tax payers have to pay for this, but another thing I don't understand is that we pay for the criminal's in jail, we paid for the loan the congress gave to there rich buddies without a plan, garbage pick up, schools, roads that sometimes don't get plowed the list could go on. I know why people don't want to see this pass is because of the wages these people make. What is so wrong with people making a good wage? Someone please explain?

First of all this is a loan. Secondly,I see this as a classic example of class warfare, will the middle class survive? The
Middle class needs to fight with everything it has,as the rich get richier,
the poor get poorer this is fact!! I think this has to do with the hourly wage UAW members negotiated with GM. What is wrong with a good wage??? The answer is nothing! I hope the U.S.A. does not loose its blue and white collar middle class.
